Overview: <p><strong>Description</strong></p> &nbsp; <p>&nbsp;</p> <table width="100%"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="100%"> <p><strong><em><u>Sr. Human Resources Benefit Representation</u></em></strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is looking for a Senior HR Benefits Representative to join the corporate Employee Benefits team in downtown Detroit.&nbsp; The Senior HR Benefits Representative will plan for and execute enterprise-wide employee benefits-related projects to drive efficiencies and improvements in benefit plan and service performance of health, &nbsp;long and short term disability, vision, dental, life, AD&amp;D, ACA, EAP, FSA and other programs.</p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <br /> <p>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong><u><em>What the Senior HR Benefits Representative will do:</em></u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Leverage employee benefits expertise and project management skills to manage and monitor multiple benefits-related projects by establishing project objectives and supporting project plans to drive desired outcomes and establish regular cadence of status reporting</li> <li>Identify, analyze, recommend, communicate and manage implementation of solutions to employee benefits-related issues or problems that negatively impact stakeholders&rsquo; experiences</li> <li>Plan and execute awareness campaigns regarding employee benefit plan options</li> <li>Represent the Benefits team on corporate workgroups (e.g. national health care reform, annual open enrollment)</li> <li>Develop and revise ERISA plan documents and summary plan information</li> <li>Identify, propose and implement improvement opportunities related to benefit offerings and / or supporting processes / practices</li> <li>Develop and maintain applicable documentation, reports, job aids, work flows, etc to aid specific projects and project objectives</li> <li>Leverage ability to influence without direct authority to lead cross-functional project teams and ensure milestones are met</li> <li>To a limited extent, coach and mentor individuals on the project teams and provides feedback on project team members&rsquo; performance</li> <li>Facilitate compliance audits</li> <li>Perform other duties as requested</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong><em><u>What the Benefits Project Leader will bring:</u></em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred</li> <li>Five years experience in Human Resources with at least three years employee benefit experience</li> <li>Three years experience in working on corporate workgroups / project teams</li> <li>Excellent analytical, organization, time management, project management, problem resolution, and verbal / written communication skills</li> <li>Ability to work independently within established deadlines</li> <li>Proven success leading projects through influence vs. direct authority</li> <li>Proficiency in current industry standard PC applications and systems (i.e., Excel, Word).</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of applicable Human Resources laws (i.e., ACA, FMLA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul> <p><strong><em><u><br /><br />Corporate Requirements:</u></em></strong></p> <p>Coordinate various Human Resources functions including but not limited to recruitment, employment, labor relations, compensation, benefits administration, retirement administration, employee services, training and employee health.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Independently resolve more complex employee and management inquiries that arise as a result of daily work routines abiding by all corporate and employee policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop plans for proposed Human Resources systems; monitor the implementation and operation of approved systems.&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead work groups composed of various areas in the corporation to complete projects and/or tasks.&nbsp;</li> <li>Identify and analyze business problems and devise procedures and solutions to the problems.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist personnel (both internal and external) by answering questions, supplying information and training as necessary.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop, maintain and produce monthly, quarterly or annual reports as required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Research, analyze and develop information to support Human Resources policies and procedures in daily dealings with&nbsp;individuals and/or departments in the corporation.&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepare presentations on Human Resources related topics.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide information for internal and external audits and market surveys as necessary.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related area&nbsp;preferred.&nbsp;</li> <li>Five (5) years experience in the Human Resources environment or related experience.</li> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, problem resolution, verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and within established deadlines.</li> <li>Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (i.e., Excel, Word).</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of applicable Human Resources laws (i.e., ERISA, FLSA, OHSA, etc.).</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
