Overview: <strong><span id="requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1516.row1" class="subtitle" title="">Overview &amp; Objectives</span></strong><span class="blockpanel"><span class=""><strong>&nbsp;</strong><br /></span></span><span id="requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1539.row1" class="text" title=""><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"><br />This internship position will provide opportunity to gain work experience as a continuous improvement consultant serving as an internal subject matter expert in Lean operations principles, the application methodology, and business process improvements.</span></span></span>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Under the supervision of BCBSM staff, the individual will be part of project teams analyzing business processes to improve outcomes in cost, quality, and timeliness.</li> <li>Specific assignments will be related to some aspect of business process improvement (process mapping and analysis, data analysis, ROI evaluation etc.)</li> <li>The Individual will be working with many people around the organization and as part of a team. &nbsp;</li> <li>The work location is in downtown Detroit.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong><span id="requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1558.row1" class="subtitle" title="">Required &amp; Preferred Skills</span><span class="blockpanel"><span class="">&nbsp;</span></span></strong> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Majors preferred Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science or Operations Management.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Analytical skills are critical.&nbsp;</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">The individual should be able to pick up computer and software skills quickly as needed.&nbsp; </span></span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Coursework in Computers, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or Business is highly desirable. </span></span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Academic excellence demonstrated through high GPA of 3.4 or better is necessary.</span></span></li> </ul>
