Overview: The Blue Paths to Success Program is an opportunity for college students with disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, to gain work experience with a leading health insurer committed to diversity. Qualified candidates will be matched to various internship openings based on skills, qualifications, area of study and GPA requirements. The program is 12 weeks during the summer at one of our metro-Detroit locations and will be either full or part time.
Responsibilities: <p>Interns will assist in providing solutions to both internal and external customers. Specific assignments and qualifications will vary based on the functional area that the intern is assigned for the summer. Duties may include: researching, compiling, reviewing, and analyzing information to generate and deliver reports, presentations, timelines, tables, graphs or correspondence utilizing assigned software.</p> <p>Interns may participate in meetings and providing information to others on processes and procedures and assist in organizing department activities or information. Interns may also help design processes or make recommendations to enhance department operations.</p>
Requirements: <p>To be considered, students must be:</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate or graduate program.</li> <li>At a minimum Sophomore level status or above majoring in: Business, Economics, Computer Science, Math, Finance, Accounting, Communications, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other applicable majors.</li> <li>Maintaining a GPA of 3.0, 3.3 or better preferred.</li> <li>Willing to successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen.</li> <li>Interested in the health care field.</li> <li>Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).</li> <li>Have good attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Have a strong work ethic, positive outlook and desire to learn.</li> </ul> <p>All candidates will be reviewed and only those most qualified for the positions will be matched to various internship openings based on skills, qualifications, area of study and GPA requirements.</p> <p>You will be contacted if your resume meets the specific qualifications of our internship opportunities and may be invited to interview.</p>
