Overview: Plan, organize and monitor external audit coordination activities according to departmental priorities.&nbsp; Provides assistance to the primary audit coordination function in obtaining, analyzing and compiling data for audits of BCBSM by either group customers, independent auditors or government agencies.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate external audits.</li> <li>Research and respond to complex issues.&nbsp; Review responses and other correspondence to ensure they are accurate, appropriate and complete.</li> <li>Distribute questions from external auditors to appropriate departments and review to the responses to ensure their accuracy and completeness.</li> <li>Distribute questionnaires from external auditors and assist in compiling a corporate response.</li> <li>Obtain claim documents for all lines of business and other data files as assigned.</li> <li>Review and calculate claim payments.</li> <li>Follow-up on corrective actions and results to leadership.</li> <li>Communicate sensitive audit issues and results to leadership.</li> <li>Coordinate and attend business meeting as requested by leadership.</li> <li>As directed, make physical arrangements for auditors.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of Audit Agreements for coordination of benefit recovery audits.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>Finance or Math students preferred, all degrees considered.</p> <p>Students who can extend on a part time basis into the fall are preferred.</p> <ul> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to analyze, investigate and organize ideas in recognizing, defining and formulating solutions to problems.</li> <li>Ability to effectively interface with all levels of BCBSM personnel, external auditors and customers.</li> <li>Knowledge of generally accepted auditing principles and theories.</li> <li>Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g. Word, Excel and Microsoft Office).</li> <li>Ability to work independently, within a team environment and handle multiple priorities.</li> <li>Basic project management skills.</li> </ul>
