Paid Internship

Overview: <p>The Marketing intern will support the goals of the Marketing Strategy &amp; Member Engagement team within Corporate Marketing and Customer Experience. The position will challenge the intern&rsquo;s ability to think strategically, &ldquo;planning the work and working the plan.&rdquo; This role is not about &ldquo;getting coffee&rdquo;; it&rsquo;s a roll-up your sleeves and &ldquo;let&rsquo;s solve a problem&rdquo; opportunity. By the end of the summer, the intern will:</p> <ul> <li>Learn and apply marketing and engagement techniques in the health care industry.</li> <li>Learn the basics about health insurance, and more importantly how to communicate those basics in a clear and simple way.</li> <li>Network across the company and learn about how a large organization works and the different types of roles that are available.</li> <li>Make an impact on the lives of Blue Cross members in Michigan and across the country.</li> <li>Have fun with a group of dedicated and caring group of professionals.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Support the development and execution of the organization&rsquo;s marketing and member engagement plans, including a large project educating and engaging members on where to go for medical and behavioral care.</li> <li>Interface with several areas of the organization, including Corporate Communications, Customer Experience, Digital Experience, Product Strategy, Health Care Value and others.</li> <li>Participate in the corporately sponsored activities available to interns. There are multiple opportunities to network with peers and do a team-based project.</li> <li>Other special projects as they arise &ndash; and they will.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Naturally inquisitive person who often asks "why" things are like they are, Strong communication skills with comfort in both one-on-one and group discussions, Critical thinking with the ability to review work, including communications, and develop a point of view, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work with a broad set of people with different backgrounds, ages, expertise and personality types.</li> <li>Marketing experience either in a major class assignment or previous intern/work experience, preferred.</li> </ul>
