Paid Internship

Overview: The Pharmacy Operation area plays a critical role in building pharmacy&nbsp;benefits based on the group&rsquo;s specifications along with state/federal requirements.&nbsp;The goal and objectives for the intern will be an oversight into the process of pharmacy benefit builds. This includes exposure to the timeframes and work involved from initial requests to the completion. The intern will be exposed to internal areas as well as external (pharmacy benefit manager) areas which require involvement to complete the tasks at hand. The intern will also be exposed to the process and importance of control reports to monitor daily activates. In addition, exposure will include process for direct member reimbursements and coordination of benefits. The intern will also be exposed to the process the team uses to analyze and resolve complex benefit inquiries. The end of the rotation the intern will have a full understanding of the benefit set up, importance of control report and member direct reimbursement process.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>The intern will attend workgroups meeting and monthly meetings for the Operations team.</li> <li>Assignments: Assist with creating work flow processes for improvements and with documenting requires for projects.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist with any new state and or federal requirements related to benefits for 2018 and or 2019.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist/understand control reports and metric reporting for day to functions of the team.&nbsp;</li> <li>Exposure to IT related items required to perform Operations&nbsp;team duties.</li> <li>Review and analyze ad-hoc reports required to complete process improvements, benefit builds and state/federal requirements.&nbsp;</li> <li>Responsible for giving the manager updates on the items being worked on daily/weekly depending on the item.</li> <li>Responsible of presenting the team with outcomes of the various work items on their plate.</li> <li>The end of the rotation -responsible to create a presentation to present to the team on the key items learned during this experience.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Required &amp; Preferred Skills</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</span> <ul> <li>Pharmacy intern- preferably with pharmacy retail setting experience.</li> <li>Requirements to include &ndash; Knowledge of windows suite (windows, excel, outlook).</li> <li>Ability to speak effectively and participate in workgroup meetings and have good written skills.</li> <li>Knowledge of pharmacy retail setting. Ability to work in a team setting. Willingness to learn.</li> <li>Current pharmacy students completing at least two years of a Pharm D program.</li> </ul>
