Overview: <p>This internship position will provide opportunity to gain work insight in Medicare Advantage inpatient pre-certification, working on real projects, developing relevant skills, within a fast-paced, fun, and professional work environment.</p> <p>This is a non-clinical position&nbsp;supporting clinical staff. Ideal for someone interested in the clinical side of work as there would be exposure to beneficial experience with clinical information. A candidate with interest in Healthcare Administration, Analytics, Informatics, or related fields would be best, but would need to have experience with the computer programs mentioned (mainly excel) as that is ultimately what their responsibilities will be.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>The person in this role will be spending most of their time doing the following:</p> <ul> <li>Analyzing Data.</li> <li>Running Reports (Excel, Access).</li> <li>Data Entry (Reviewing Clinical Information).</li> <li>Assisting with Meetings and Presentations.</li> <li>Logging Appeals Information.</li> <li>Scanning and Routing of Information.</li> </ul> <p>This team focuses on the applying nursing knowledge and national criteria to review for inpatient precertification requests, analyzing departmental data, and processing&nbsp;provider appeals.</p>
Requirements: <p><strong>Required &amp; Preferred Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Junior or senior class standing.</li> <li>Majoring in Nursing or Health Care related field.</li> <li>Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).</li> <li>Have good written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, analytical,&nbsp;problem-solving, strong work ethic, and desire to learn.</li> </ul>
