Overview: <p>Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan&rsquo;s Corporate Communications internship offers a unique opportunity for highly-motivated individuals to work in a challenging environment where contribution and collaboration are integral to success. This internship provides real-world challenges and rewarding intern experiences to candidates.</p> <p>Interns are assigned to communication teams within the Corporate Communications department based on the candidate's background, skill set and interests. The assignments are project-oriented, meaningful to the department and allow the intern to take responsibility for major tasks. This internship allows candidates the opportunity for personal and professional growth and development by contributing to challenging projects and experiencing our corporate culture through work assignments and structured activities.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>Corporate Communications interns are responsible for executing a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Supporting internal and external communications initiatives and activities.</li> <li>Writing and editing messaging for multiple audiences including employees, news media, customers, the public, executives and other key stakeholders.</li> <li>Creating content for print, digital, marketing collateral and other communication channels.</li> <li>Attending internal and external meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>Required &amp; Preferred Skills&nbsp;</p> <p><em>Required</em></p> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of the internal/external communication and marketing functions within an organization.</li> <li>Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.</li> <li>Ability to perform research.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communications,</li> <li>Proficient in writing, editing and AP Style.</li> <li>Reliable, highly responsible and organized.</li> </ul> <p><em>Preferred</em></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge in using various platforms to communicate messages, including social media, websites, blogs, video, etc.</li> <li></li> </ul>
