Overview: Employee benefit plan administration is a great way to begin a career in Human Resources!&nbsp; Join the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Retirement Benefits Plan team&nbsp;and gain unique internship experience with both pension and 401(k) plans.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assist the Retirement Administration department with processing claims and assisting with the department's email box and answering phone calls.</li> <li>Apply empathy skills in helping beneficiaries understand their benefits when a retiree dies.</li> <li>Retrieve employee information and files to assist team members prepare for retirement consultations.</li> <li>Review completed retirement forms for accuracy and file with appropriate vendors.</li> <li>Provide guidance to retirees regarding direct deposit and tax withholding forms and mailings.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Required &amp; Preferred Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Working toward Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources.</li> <li>Basic understanding of employee benefit plans, particularly defined benefit and defined contributions plans, preferred.</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills.</li> <li>Strong verbal communication skills and comfortable speaking on the phone.</li> </ul>
