Paid Internship

Overview: <div><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Interns in our Finance Program will have a busy, enriching summer gaining real-world work experience in a professional, business setting. The Summer 2020 internships are full time, paid and demanding yet enjoyable and rewarding. Interns will grow in their roles as finance professionals and learn by doing in a fast-paced environment.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Selected interns will work in a variety of areas of finance and have exposure to all aspects of corporate finance. Interns will be assigned a variety of tasks. In our exciting and ever-changing environment, our interns always have opportunities to learn and grow.</div>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Capture, manipulate and extract data from multiple sources and summarize it for leadership review ensuring data integrity</li> <li>Prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analysis&nbsp;</li> <li>Synthesize findings and draw conclusions from analyses to make oral/written recommendations to leadership</li> <li>Communicate issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Preferred majors include Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration Statistics, Financial Mathematics or Actuarial majors</li> <li>Demonstrate understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, balance sheet, income statement, financial statement analysis, internal controls, journal entries, accounts payable and cost accounting/allocations</li> <li>Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel including Vlookups and pivot tables required</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word required</li> <li>GPA of 3.25 required 3.5 or better preferred</li> <li>Be enrolled as a full-time student in a 4-year degree program with sophomore, junior or senior year status</li> <li>Able to work full time during the summer of 2020</li> </ul> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div><u>Skills</u></div> <ul> <li>Attention to detail.</li> <li>The ability to multi-task.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills.</li> <li>Excellent time management/work organization skills.</li> <li>Analytical thinking, problem-solving and demonstrate insight.</li> </ul>
