Overview: <p>The Summer 2018 internships are full time, paid and demanding yet fun and rewarding.&nbsp; Interns will grow in their roles as communications professionals and learn by doing in a fast paced environment.</p> <p>Interns will not only gain real world work experience but will&nbsp;participate in an Employee Resource Group for young professionals, further broadening their professional experiences.&nbsp; Blue Cross Interns will also participate in a number of social and volunteer events designed to build their young professional network,&nbsp;get to know Detroit better and have a little fun in the D.</p>
Responsibilities: Selected interns will work in the corporate communications group and have exposure to all aspects of corporate communications including PR, Corporate Communications, Advertising, Social Media writing &amp; blogging, video production, internal and external event management, in addition to other tasks as&nbsp;assigned. In&nbsp;an exciting and ever changing environment, our interns are never bored!!
Requirements: <p>The ideal candidate must have at least completed their freshman year.&nbsp; Those who will have completed their sophomore or Junior year by May of 2018 are preferred.&nbsp; Those&nbsp;students majoring in Communications, Journalism,&nbsp;PR, Mass Media&nbsp;or Marketing will be giving preference.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Additionally, candidates must:</p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Demonstrate academic excellence and have a GPA of 3.0 or better</li> <li>&nbsp;Possess a strong interest in writing and have above average writing abilities</li> <li>&nbsp;Have the ability to take direction and utilize time management</li> <li>&nbsp;Have a sense of urgency to meet critical deadlines</li> <li>&nbsp;Be a creative problem solver and brings new and innovative&nbsp; ideas to the table</li> <li>&nbsp;Be a self starter and be accountable for one&rsquo;s work</li> <li>&nbsp;Be versed in social media application</li> <li>&nbsp;Be willing to travel ( up to 20% local travel) to support various events</li> <li>&nbsp;Have their own reliable transportation</li> <li>&nbsp;Be willing to work evenings and weekends as required</li> <li>&nbsp;Have&nbsp;previous work experience</li> </ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Have experience with creating video content and familiarity with latest image/filming technology&nbsp;</li> </ul> <br /> <h4>&nbsp;</h4>
