Paid Internship

Overview: This internship position will provide opportunity to gain work experience as a continuous improvement consultant serving as an internal subject matter expert in Lean operations principles, the application methodology, and business process improvements.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of BCBSM staff, the individual will be part of project teams analyzing business processes to improve outcomes in cost, quality, and timeliness. Specific assignments will be related to some aspect of business process improvement (process mapping and analysis, data analysis, ROI evaluation etc.) The Individual will be working with many people around the organization and as part of a team. The work location is in downtown Detroit.
Requirements: <ul> <li>Majors preferred Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science or Operations Management.</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.</li> <li>Analytical skills are critical.</li> <li>The individual should be able to pick up computer and software skills quickly as needed. Coursework in Computers, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or Business is highly desirable. Academic excellence demonstrated through high GPA of 3.4 or better is necessary.</li> </ul>
