Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) will report to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for providing clinic services.&nbsp; The staff RN is responsible for ensuring that care is delivered appropriately and the standards of quality are adhered to.&nbsp; RNs will be responsible for providing services to clients and will strive to provide these services in a compassionate, professional, ethical and knowledgeable fashion. <p>The Registered Nurse must consistently demonstrate and foster the following core values behaviors during all interactions with shareholders, clients, employees, vendors, and other business partners. Responsibilities: <p><strong>Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities</strong>:</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities of the RNs include, but are not limited to the following</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Directs, initiates, and implements patient care plan.</li> <li>Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.</li> <li>Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.</li> <li>Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of patient.</li> <li>Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient</li> <li>Observes patient, records significant conditions, condition changes and/or reactions and notifies supervisor or physician of patient&rsquo;s condition, significant condition changes and/or adverse reaction to drugs, treatments and/or other significant incidents.</li> <li>Takes and records patients&rsquo; vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assesses condition of patient.</li> <li>Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol.</li> <li>Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.</li> <li>Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction.</li> <li>Rotates among various clinical services of institution such as obstetrics, orthopedics, surgery, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, and psychiatry.</li> <li>Bathes, dresses, and assists patients in transferring, walking, and turning.</li> <li>Keeps rooms safe for patients and answers patients&rsquo; calls.</li> <li>Ensures timesheets are accurate, signed, and turned in by 12pm every Monday.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Registered Nurse with current unencumbered licensure to practice professional nursing in the state in which the care if being provided.</li> <li>Minimum of 1 year of documented experience preferred.</li> <li>Comply with accepted professional standards of practice.</li> <li>Certified in CPR.</li> <li>Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.</li> <li>Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with the organizations requirements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personal Protective Equip:&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong></p> <ul> <li>May include gloves, mask, eye protection, and disposable outer covering.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Working Conditions: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Contact with clients under a wide variety of circumstances.&nbsp; Care provided in client&rsquo;s living environment with varying situations or in an institution such as a hospital.&nbsp; May be required to respond in an emergency situation.&nbsp; Travel required.&nbsp; Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues.</li> </ul>
