Reporting to the Driver Supervisor, you'll be a key member of the team in the safe operation of our concrete pumps. When not operating the pump, the successful candidate will also be eligible to run a Concrete Mixer truck. Responsibilities: <p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">Location: Edmonton, Alberta</strong></p> <p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">What You Will Be Doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Concrete pump operation; ensure that the pump is set up for pumping in a safe manner clear of power lines and hazards</li> <li>Completing daily FLRA's and daily/weekly pump inspections</li> <li>Pre-trip, pre-job equipment inspections ensuring equipment fluid levels, tire pressures, lights, etc. are checked and adjusted as required before start-up and at the end of each day; ensuring that the pump is clean both inside and outside</li> <li>Ensuring pump lines are cleaned out daily; ensure pumps are acidized/washed out in accordance with established procedures</li> <li>Reporting to Dispatch Office, Operations Supervisor, and the Shop/Mechanic Supervisor any equipment problems or failures</li> <li>Preform daily greasing and minor maintenance of clamps, hoses, pipes and elbows</li> <li>Washing out or discharging of concrete only&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong data-redactor-tag="strong">BURNCO&nbsp;</strong>property, in areas designated by Management</li> <li>Set up and tear down of all pumping equipment (ie.: hoses pipes, clamps, hard line)</li> <li>Contributing to keeping the areas in and around the plant clean and hazardous free</li> <li>Learning our company safety protocol in order to execute work safely</li> <li>Performing other duties as directed by the Supervisor</li> <li>When the pump is not booked out, you will be eligible to run a Concrete Mixer truck (training provided) to get extra hours</li> </ul> <p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">Reality of the Job:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You will work long hours during peak times and concrete demand</li> <li>You'll be working Monday through Friday (Saturdays as required but not often)</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div class="job-preview-styles__requirements--2kg4_" data-ui="job-requirements"> <p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">What We Would Like From You</strong></p> <ul> <li>Two (2) or more years concrete pumping experience</li> <li>Class 1 or Class 3 CDL (Air brakes equipped)</li> <li>Safe Driver record with a clean commercial Drivers Abstract (minimum 5 years)</li> <li>Be subject to working conditions which may include varying weather and temperatures and the ability to lift 23 kgs+ (50 lbs+)</li> <li>Good mechanical aptitude</li> <li>CSA certified steel-toed boots</li> <li>Concrete Mixer Operator experience an asset but not required</li> <li>ConcreteAB Pump Operator certification an asset; if not yet held,&nbsp;<strong data-redactor-tag="strong">BURNCO&nbsp;</strong>will put you through the course</li> </ul> <strong data-redactor-tag="strong">IMPORTANT:&nbsp;</strong><em data-redactor-tag="i">As this is a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidate selected for hire must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening (including cannabis), as well as a comprehensive Fitness For Work assessment (Audi &amp; Spiro).</em></div> <div class="job-preview-styles__benefits--21mG1" data-ui="job-benefits">&nbsp;</div>
