Internship

Overview: At Clayton &amp; McKervey, we are focused on growing from within. Our interns are the future of the company.
Responsibilities: The&nbsp;<strong>Rotational Intern</strong>&nbsp;performs a variety of entry-level accounting assignments, demonstrating growing knowledge of tax and/or audit accounting. Internship opportunities are available within our Tax, Assurance or Foreign Direct Investment departments.
Requirements: <p><strong>Essential Job Functions May Include:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Efficiently and accurately prepares work papers; performs procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles to ensure accuracy and validity&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepares financial statements with appropriate notes&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepares a variety of tax returns including individual, corporate and partnership</li> <li>Participates in the preparation of routine correspondence and reports, the development or maintenance of spreadsheets, and the research of complex technical issues</li> <li>Develops general knowledge and understanding of tax accounting and/or the audit process</li> <li>Demonstrates ability to monitor work status to meet deadlines and quality control standards; appropriately prioritizes multiple assignments</li> <li>Demonstrates ability to identify solutions to problems; keeps appropriate parties informed of project status at all times; completes work with increasingly fewer review notes</li> <li>Becomes familiar with firm policies, procedures and objectives</li> <li>Becomes familiar with clients' businesses and the unique aspects of each client's industry in order to begin establishing strong client relationships</li> <li>Actively promotes and facilitates teamwork</li> <li>Clearly and effectively communicates, both orally and in writing</li> </ul>
