By optimizing the health of the metadata used by CBC Digital Products teams, the Analytics and Search team plays an essential part in ensuring our audience has access to unique curated content. We have two key roles:</p> <ul> <li>Collecting, processing, and sending behavioral signals to analytics reporting services and machines to empower teams to make data-driven decisions</li> <li>Managing and developing a site-search experience at <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/search">https://www.cbc.ca/search</a></li> </ul> <p>Right now, we have a rare opportunity for a Junior Developer to join CBC for a one-year contract starting in February. This is an exciting opportunity for a Developer who is eager to innovate, quick to learn, and wants to expand their skills with hands-on work. Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring to our team:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>The education and experience</strong>. We know not everyone gains their programming skills in a traditional academic way. You may be a new or recent graduate with a relevant degree and several co-op or intern placements. Or, you may have completed a full stack coding bootcamp and have a year of professional experience.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>The tools - and the desire to learn</strong>. You are proficient with JavaScript and Java. You are eager to learn new technologies and respond to change by adapting.</li> <li><strong>The communication skills</strong>. You know how to listen and relay empathy and understanding for diverse perspectives. Your powers of observation help you understand your audience and communicate with the right level of detail.</li> <li><strong>The collaborative approach</strong>. You thrive in a team-focused environment. You have an understanding of Agile methodology and you are dedicated to applying it in a real-word environment.</li> <li><strong>The bonus skills</strong>.
