Responsibilities: <p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p>This isn&rsquo;t your typical machine learning role. You are taking the best of data systems engineering, machine learning and software development, and applying it to interesting problems you wouldn&rsquo;t normally get a chance to solve at a big enterprise or a startup.</p> <p>As a Machine Intelligence Developer, you&rsquo;ll be able apply Machine Intelligence to products, where the expected outcome is to show value to our audience, rather than to increase company revenue. At CBC Digital Products, we tackle the hard problems, apply the very best solutions and reevaluate those choices when new data presents itself.</p> <p>Our Machine Intelligence Developer position will join our growing Machine Intelligence practice and be responsible for research, development and deployment of Machine Intelligence algorithms, uniquely catered to our various product offerings and content areas, and their success metrics.</p> <p><strong><br />What&rsquo;s in for you</strong></p> <p><strong>C</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">utting edge tech. You will be applying machine intelligence in novel ways for the creation of a product specific, and/or audience specific recommendation systems. This is a chance to experiment with various algorithms to help surface content to our audience without the creation of filter bubbles. </span></p> <p><strong>B</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">uilding</span><strong>. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">As part of the Machine Intelligence team, you will create key data systems and data pipelines for the collection of content features, user features and link disparate data sources.</span></p> <p><strong>C</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">areer growth. Requirements: <p><strong>Who you are and what you bring</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The passion for machine learning and data. You like to experiment and explore bleeding edge technologies and techniques, and validate their effectiveness. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The flexibility. You are comfortable with the level of ambiguity these new technologies and projects might bring. </span></li> </ul> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The experience. You have strong software development principles and apply them rigorously. You have at least one year experience in building machine learning models and deploying them into production. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The education and the technical skills. At a minimum a Computer Science, Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong Python skills, along with knowledge of machine learning libraries (e.g. Tensorflow) is required for this role, with Java being a great second language to have. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">You have knowledge or interest in Big Data technologies, NoSQL, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, ETL, Statistics, or academic research.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong><br />Why join us? </strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">CBC/Radio-Canada reflects the Canadian identity and promotes democracy.
