CBC Digital Products is looking for an Audio-Video Developer to join our AV Platform team as a&nbsp;<strong>Video Streaming Backend Developer</strong>. Someone to drive the integration of our Digital Audio/Video Systems that deliver on-demand and live audio and video content to millions of Canadians. It is a highly collaborative, high exposure role.</p> <p>If you're passionate about Canada and you love technology, learning and bringing out the best in others, you&rsquo;ll love working at CBC.</p> <p><strong>Who you are and where are you now?</strong></p> <p>You are a Backend Developer working with large enterprise systems and developing applications to support the distribution of live and on-demand audio and video content. You are looking for an opportunity to spearhead both new development and the integration of critical delivery systems for streamlining live Audio/Video workflows; middleware custom tools using various APIs; and more.</p>

You will collaborate with our passionate and dedicated internal groups. You will work closely with Engineering, Media Presentation (Broadcasting), IT, Content Producers, Revenue, etc. to achieve integration. You want to make an impact bringing forward new tools and ideas that will meet the demand of a national audience and support the internal stakeholders&rsquo; need to digitally deliver as much content as we can efficiently.</li> <li><u><strong>C</strong></u>areer growth.<strong>&nbsp;</strong>You will deepen your skills as you innovate solutions to the unique challenges we face as we strive to deliver content to millions of Canadians across the country. You will work on projects supporting content streaming for provincial and Federal Elections; national awards shows and major events such as the Olympics. Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. A Computer Science, Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred, but we know not everyone gains their programming skills this way.</li> <li>The direct experience. You have three years experience in software development (Java, Python, PHP). You have a proven track record of working with complex enterprise systems.</li> <li>The desire to learn. You have a keen interest in AI, Machine Learning, Product Intelligence. You can quickly pick up new tools and technologies including Video CMS such as the Platform or Brightcove; Google Advertising Platform (DFP) or Freewheel.</li> <li>The exceptional collaborative skills. You are a team player. You enjoy working closely innovating solutions and solving problems within and across teams.</li> <li>The interest in growing your existing A/V technical knowledge. You have a passion for the technologies and workflows relating to online A/V presentation: <ul> <li>Akamai or other CDN media delivery.</li> <li>Video Streaming Delivery Protocols (RTMP, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, UDP).</li> <li>Video Formats and Codecs (HLS, HDS, MP4, MPEG-DASH, CMAF, AV1, etc.).</li> <li>Video Encoders (FFMPEG, Digital Rapids, Vantage, Elemental).</li> </ul> </li> <li>The extras.
