From lesser known players to the Apple&rsquo;s Siri-hosting Home Pod. The future is in conversational interfaces and the Internet of Things. As the original Radio broadcaster for Canada, we are getting ready to step into this brand new space and lead the way Canadians engage with the CBC.</p> <p>Our new Product Manager needs to know how to leverage new technology to interpret whatever our audience says, does or wants as a way to create meaningful content for them. As Product Manager, you will collaborate with a highly focused and innovative team to execute on the group&rsquo;s vision and product roadmap. You will oversee the development, ship often and continue to iterate; reporting on metrics and presenting to executives. Responsibilities: <p><strong>How you will make a difference:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Research, explore, experiment, discover. You will closely examine the market, play with technologies and determine the best way to apply the tools we have - and identify the tools we need - to build out powerful Conversation Interface products.</li> <li>Lead. You will guide the expansion of a suite of CBC digital products built exclusively for voice-enabled devices such as Amazon Echo, Google Home, or Apple&rsquo;s HomePod.</li> <li>Manage. You will work closely with an innovative, and fast-moving internal design and development team to close out the product backlog</li> <li>Create. You will oversee the development of easily discoverable, engaging, and inclusive product experiences for Canadians.</li> <li>Be lean and Agile. You will engage, educate and empower people in a collaborative and outcome-driven Agile product management process. &nbsp;</li> <li>Assess partnerships. You will manage and review third-party partners as it relates to the product activities.</li> <li>Champion. You will promote the CBC at recognized conferences, events and educational institutions.</li> <li>Further the CBC/Radio-Canada mandate. A University degree is preferred combined with the experience to apply business and technical requirements to ensure product success.</li> <li>The experience. 3&ndash;5 years successfully delivering innovative products on a variety of Internet-connected platforms and devices. You can comfortably communicate and present product roadmaps with clarity around success, failures, and learnings to senior leaders in order to enable evidence-based decision making.</li> <li>Demonstrable experience. You have end-to-end hands-on experience scoping, planning and delivering complex end-to-end technical audio, voice, or conversational interface projects to quality, time and budget specifications, using Lean or Agile methodologies.</li> <li>The knowledge. An in-depth understanding of online audio and video, and/or app technologies (encoding, delivery, analytics, platform differences). An understanding of constraints and opportunities of building consumer facing voice-first interfaces.</li> <li>The passion. Enthusiasm for all forms of media and digital product development. You have a passion for cutting edge tech, the Internet of Things and bringing both to the everyday consumer.</li> <li>The curiosity. Forward-looking and eager to research and examine evolving product areas.</li> <li>The leadership experience. You have experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager working on similar interactive products and apps. Broadcast or Digital Media would be a huge bonus. You have a deep understanding of how to inspire and guide the work of a team and you can nurture strong two-way relationships with technical teams, peers, executives and other stakeholders. You are familiar with the tools, technologies and processes used in product design and development.
