Someone who can embrace our unique kid-focused culture.</p> <p>Our new Product Manager needs to know how to have channel their inner-child to leverage what kids say, do or want to create meaningful content for them. As Product Manager, you will inspire and provide the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the team. You will oversee the development and release of the content in a timely manner; reporting on metrics and presenting to executives. You will work closely with the Functional Manager to bring on new members that fit our culture. Responsibilities: <p><strong>How you will make a difference:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Nurture a culture of collaboration, learning, creativity and fun. You will lead the work of a cross-functional team providing mentorship, coaching direction, formal performance evaluation and access to professional development, all resulting in happy and satisfied team members.</li> <li>Create content. You will lead the conceptualization and development of balanced content that incorporates age-appropriate texts, images, sounds and videos.</li> <li>Forge collaborative relationships. You will work closely with different department leads (Producers, creative directors, art directors, technical directors) and teams to produce high-quality content.</li> <li>Conduct research. You will examine market studies, explore new ideas and empower your team to propose new concepts.</li> <li>Build a strategy. You will develop the product strategy and roadmap, outlining requirements, creating user stories and defining the scope and deliverables.</li> <li>Draft reports and presentations. You will present concepts, product updates and relevant metrics to upper level management.</li> <li>Oversee the hiring pipeline for the department including resource planning, job fair attendance and digital networking.</li> <li>Let out your inner child. On Kids Days in the office, you will play with puppets. And remember, sharing is caring.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. A University degree is preferred, but we know not everyone gains their skills this way.</li> <li>The passion. You have a passion for people and building teams. You understand and appreciate the need for high quality Canadian Kids content in the digital space. You have a deep understanding of how to inspire and guide the work of a team.</li> <li>The leadership experience. You have 3+ years managing a content development, product design or game design team. You can nurture strong two-way relationships with technical teams, peers, executives and other stakeholders. You are familiar with the tools, technologies and processes used in product design and development..</li> <li>The knowledge. You are a strategic thinker and an idea-generator. You have the patience to consider all options before jumping into a decision and the imagination to put forward and inspire big ideas. You are familiar with industry best practices and comfortable communicating with your end-user audience.</li> <li>The collaborative approach. You thrive in- and can foster- a team-focused environment. You can provide guidance and direction for teams.
