Overview:
CBC Digital Operations is the country’s biggest digital startup, taking on the challenges of innovating how media is made, sent and received. We are also part of Canada’s oldest and truest broadcasting company. We are trying new things. We are growing. As an entity of our own. As a voice for our country. As a team.

Digital is a part of our present and all of our future. CBC’s strategy is focused on becoming a digital-first organization that provides a digital platform for storytellers. Our mission is to engage our audience with stories they care about.

The opportunity:

If you want to enter the world of digital media and be part of the change and growth of one of Canada’s long-established and respected broadcasters this is your chance. CBC Digital Operations is looking a Product Manager for our A/V Platform team.

You will provide product vision, guidance and support for a team that is responsible for our Audio/Video Content Management System and a suite of tools that are used to manage the delivery of on-demand and live streaming content.

You will manage vendor relationships, and will be able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders within Digital Operations and across multiple departments throughout CBC.

You will initiate and drive collaborative projects, communicating with other teams and departments, establishing key dependencies and managing inter-team and interdepartmental dynamics.

As a leader of an Agile Team, you will own the team’s backlog and be responsible to gather requirements from stakeholders and explain them to the team, brainstorming solutions and collaborating with the team to make decisions.

You will prioritize the iterative delivery of value: releasing early and often to ensure that business value is realized quickly.

If you're passionate about Canada and you love technology, learning and bringing out the best in others, you’ll love working at CBC.

Responsibilities:
Who you are and where are you now?

You have experience as a leader of an Agile Product Team, and are seeking a new role at a place where the focus is on collaboration as a team while constantly challenging the status quo. It is equally important that you contribute to the growth of your team, in the spirit of our core values: collaboration, learning and improvement.

You are a communicator, diplomat and collaborator. You are able to provide leadership because you have hands-on knowledge of Digital Media production platforms and workflows in a complex media environment like CBC.
