The CBC Digital Audio Products team is looking for a Product Designer. This is a 12-month contract opportunity focused on producing a unified Listen web platform. A well-rounded designer, creative thinker and detail-oriented digital craftsperson. You believe that great design is more than simply a beautiful interface, but extends into the design of the product, the brand and the audience experience. You are able to thoughtfully contribute at all stages of the product life-cycle, including audience research, design briefing, design review, implementation, quality assurance and testing. Responsibilities: <p><strong>How you will make a difference on a daily basis:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design a cross-platform world class experience that includes, responsive web, native apps (Android, iOS &amp; TvOS) and &nbsp;emerging technologies.</li> <li>Work directly with User Researchers and audience stakeholders to design Canada's leading Digital Audio Producer's digital experience.</li> <li>Experiment and learn using A/B testing, behaviour analysis and segmentation research to iterate our products into truly lovable products.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The well-round combination of education and experience. A post-secondary degree with an arts or design-related focus is preferred, but we know not everyone gains their design skills this way. You have a background in digital interface/interaction design and 1-3 years working on in-market digital products including experience with: <ul> <li>Digital design and production.</li> <li>User-centered design methodologies.</li> <li>User research and usability testing.</li> <li>Designing for mobile and tablet interfaces.</li> <li>Producing grid-based designs and page layouts.</li> <li>Prototyping.</li> </ul> </li> <li>The technical expertise. You have hands-on professional experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, HTML and CSS. You have a strong understanding of information architecture.</li> <li>The passion. You have a passion for information and technology and you are enthusiastic about the opportunity to link the two pieces together.</li> <li>The desire to learn. You have the ability to quickly learn new technologies and respond to change by learning and adapting.</li> <li>The communication skills. You know how to listen and relay empathy and understanding for diverse perspectives.</li> <li>The confidence and the humility.
