Responsibilities: <p><strong>Who you are and where are you now?</strong></p> <p>You are a Backend Developer working with large enterprise systems and developing applications to support distribution of live and on-demand audio and video content. You are looking for an opportunity to spearhead both new development and the integration of critical delivery systems for streamlining live Audio/Video workflows; middleware custom tools using various APIs; and more.</p> <p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you?</strong></p> <ul> <li><u>C</u>utting edge tech. You will provide technical expertise for online digital Audio/Video systems building, implementing and integrating multiple complex systems to ensure the successful delivery of A/V content.</li> <li><u>B</u>elonging. &nbsp;You will collaborate with our passionate and dedicated internal groups. You will work closely with Engineering, Media Presentation (Broadcasting), IT, Content Producers, Revenue, etc. to achieve integration. You want to make an impact bringing forward new tools and ideas that will meet the demand of a national audience and support the internal stakeholders&rsquo; need to digitally deliver as much content as we can efficiently.</li> <li><u>C</u>areer growth. Requirements: <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Post-secondary degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.</li> <li>The direct experience. You have three years experience in software development (Java, Python, PHP). You have a proven track record of working with complex enterprise systems.</li> <li>The desire to learn. You have a keen interest in AI, Machine Learning, Product Intelligence. You can quickly pick up new tools and technologies including Video CMS such as the Platform or Brightcove; Google Advertising Platform (DFP) or Freewheel.</li> <li>The flexibility. You are available to participate in a rotating on-call shift one out of every four or five weeks, for which you will earn additional compensation.</li> <li>The interest in growing your A/V technical knowledge. You have a passion for the technologies and workflows relating to online A/V presentation: <ul> <li>Akamai or other CDN media delivery.</li> <li>Video Streaming Delivery Protocols (RTMP, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, UDP).</li> <li>Video Formats and Codecs (HLS, HDS, MP4, MPEG-DASH, CMAF, AV1, etc.).</li> <li>Video Encoders (FFMPEG, Digital Rapids, Vantage, Elemental).</li> </ul> </li> <li>The extras.
