This is a new initiative within CBC Digital Products that will bring together CBC&rsquo;s Kids content in new ways.</p> <p>As the first new Full Stack Developer on the team, you will be responsible for producing both the underlying software infrastructure and main digital properties that make up the new CBC Kids platform. This is an opportunity for a developer who is confident in their capabilities, eager to innovate and open to learning.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Who you are and where are you now?</strong></p> <p>You are passionate about creating new ways for Kids to interact with our products. You are a Front- or Backend developer looking to move into a Full Stack role. Or, you may be working as a Full Stack Developer already. Either way, you are looking for an opportunity to join a company with a purpose and want the chance to join us on our mandate to engage, entertain and inform Canadians across the country - focusing on Kids.</p> <p>We work with a diverse set of technologies, languages and frameworks, but to us, grasp-of-concept is what matters. You will develop digital experiences for our kids&rsquo; audience. You will adhere to privacy regulations and respect the sensitive nature of collecting information about the target audience. You will collaborate with fellow team members, in an Agile environment, to ensure the highest quality product is developed and best practices are followed. You will work with content-area development teams to assist in the implementation and support of digital properties on the platforms and frameworks.</li> <li><u>C</u>areer growth. Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. A Computer Science, Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred, but we know not everyone gains their programming skills this way.</li> <li>The hands-on expertise. You have hands-on professional experience developing large complex web-based applications. Your strengths might lie in UI based technologies, Java or database development technologies.</li> <li>The extra knowledge. Previous experience building kids web or gaming properties is an asset. An understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines and digital Content Management Systems would be an asset.</li> <li>The desire to learn. You have the ability to quickly learn new technologies and respond to change by learning and adapting.</li> <li>The communication skills. You know how to listen and relay empathy and understanding for diverse perspectives.You are open to the ideas of others.</li> <li>The confidence and the humility. You are comfortable working autonomously, taking calculated risks and contributing ideas and thoughts to the product. Your powers of observation help you understand your audience and communicate with the right level of detail.</li> <li>The creativity and adaptability. You can adapt quickly, innovate solutions and embrace the new while accepting the ambiguous.</li> <li>The Agile experience.
