Responsibilities: <p><strong>How you will make a difference on a daily basis, you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implement. You will&nbsp;perform network and instance monitoring. You will follow appropriate remediation tasks in the case of an identified fault.</li> <li>Monitor performance. You will analyze and optimize system configurations and network structures to maximize performance.</li> <li>Support. You will troubleshoot internal software development and operations related issues and provide technical support.</li> <li>Maintain. You will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the infrastructure responsible for the operation and development of our audience and internal facing digital assets.</li> <li>Be on-call. You will participate in occasional on-call support for after-hours support coverage.</li> <li>Advocate.Your role will include educating teams and individuals on the benefits and successes of following certain processes and using specific tools.&nbsp;</li> <li>Perfect. Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. A Computer Science, Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred, but we know not everyone gains their programming skills this way.</li> <li>The hands-on experience. You have a balanced blend of system administration, release deployment and development. You can empathize with a developer&rsquo;s needs and tools. You can work with product teams to understand their needs and build infrastructure. You understand the modern aspects of cloud technology - &nbsp;modelling, deployment, storage, optimization and management - in Google and Azure.</li> <li>The technical skills. You have experience with: <ul> <li>Java, PHP, Javascript, PostgresSQL</li> <li>Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye</li> <li>VMWare Virtualization and cloud hosting services</li> <li>Shell scripting skills (intermediate)</li> </ul> </li> <li>The bonus technical skills. You have experience with: <ul> <li>Hosted CMS and microCMS systems</li> <li>Working in a broadcast media environment</li> <li>With Content Delivery Networks such as Akamai</li> </ul> </li> <li>The passion.
