MTIS is the team making it happen.</p> <p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p>CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a End User Technology Specialist, Media Support.&nbsp;Reporting to the Manager, Media Support &ndash; User Technology, this is a one-year contract opportunity for someone who wants to step into Canada&rsquo;s oldest and most respected broadcaster. A&nbsp;specialist who wants to be a key player supporting the live environment and the Corporation&rsquo;s mobile and desktop infrastructure as we move into a new building in 2020. A chance to have a say in the design and implementation of new processes and software release packages for the operational environment; a chance to introduce best practices supporting cloud-based solutions.</p> <p><strong>Who you are and where are you now?</strong></p> <p>You are a well-rounded programmer at a crossroads in your career and you are seeking out the challenges of a change management environment. You have been designing and coding widgets, websites and cloud-based applications. You believe cloud-based solutions offer the flexibility, freedom and structure we need.</p> <p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you?</strong></p> <p><u>C</u>hallenges. Media files are highly nuanced and incredibly complicated; moving our broadcasting content is a complex technical feat, whether between on-prem servers or to the cloud. From documenting processes and workflows to creating desktop images and providing assistance to the support services. This is a chance to take on the challenges of looking back and deepening your understanding of desktop environments in order to move us further ahead, into a new way of managing user environments. From introducing best practices to writing scripts that exploit Google&rsquo;s APIs to generate reports, there is a lot of new and exciting work to be done here.</p> <p><u>B</u>e part of the change. Responsibilities: <p><strong>How you will make a difference as part of a &nbsp;group responsible for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Software deployment. You will script the logic, package and deploy new software to specific subsets of end-users using our management tools. You will document the process and determine the parameters for deployment taking into consideration legacy aspects, time-of-day restrictions, targeted end-users, etc. On rare occasions, this will require off-hours support.</li> <li>Laptop imaging. You will create, maintain and update a corporate-wide image for end-user laptops and reimage failing laptops.</li> <li>Management of vendor relationships. You will engage with third-party support for our printer fleet, cloud providers and other externally managed services.</li> <li>Subscription management. You will oversee the rollout of Office 365 and G suite - subscriptions and licenses as well as revoking access when applicable. You will manage mobile device licenses and access.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. You have a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.</li> <li>The experience. You have worked in cloud-based environments such as Google, AWS and/or Azure, scripting and programming. You have exposure to user environments in typical enterprises. You have an awareness of the tools - and the alternatives - for software deployment to internal teams.</li> <li>The communication skills. You are fluently bilingual. You are skilled at presenting ideas, documenting processes and workflows and relaying your opinions with sensitivity. You know how to listen and you understand perspectives.</li> <li>The collaborative approach. You thrive in a team-focused environment. You can guide and direction for teams and take a hands-on role wherever needed.</li> <li>The relationship building finesse. You can nurture strong two-way relationships with peers, partners, clients, staff, senior managers and external technological vendors.</li> <li>The analytical skills.
