MTIS is the team making it happen.</span></p> <p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a Network Engineer to join us for 12-month contract (with renewal) as a Project Lead on our Applications Solutions and Telecommunications Department. This is a Toronto-based role working primarily on local projects with the possibility of travel to Montreal. CBC / Radio-Canada has one of the largest private networks in the world that uniquely deploys our content and services from coast-to-coast-to-coast. In this role, you will design, estimate and manage the deployment of technological solutions as the designated Project Lead on a cross-functional team. You will ensure that the designs and system implementations you oversee are in accordance with CBC / Radio-Canada and accepted industry practices and applicable Federal and Provincial regulations.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><strong>Who you are and where are you now?</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You are an Engineer with hands-on experience deploying large scale network and infrastructure systems in telecommunication, banking or another industry operating a highly secure, large private network. You have outstanding leadership skills including a logical, structured mindset that demands you approach problems and issues in an organized, well-thought-out manner. You may have experience working in both French and English.</span></p>

This one-of-a-kind wide network infrastructure is always in transformation, growing and evolving, with new technologies based on new business and industry realities. Your project work will range from:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Designing and deploying infrastructure for new or upgrading facilities.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Planning the installation of physical hardware such as switches.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Planning the consolidation of multiple siloed data centres into a single centre. Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The education. You have a degree in Engineering and you are eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. You have networking certification. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The experience. You have expertise in designing, planning and overseeing the implementation of infrastructure for network systems and transport technologies (SONET, Ethernet, advanced IP routing protocols). You have hands-on experience in fiber optics technologies; IP Telephony (SIP) and unified communications. You work on the cutting edge of technology and pick up new tools quickly. You are aware of modern, best practices and you thrive in an Agile environment. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The project management expertise. You can navigate business and financial decisions; negotiate contracts and conflicts; and drive the deliverables of major projects on time. You understand how to work within the processes and use the significant budget as well as existing resources, tools and personnel to your advantage. You are a strategic thinker with the motivation to think through complex issues, remove the roadblocks and innovate multiple solutions.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The communication skills. You can nurture strong two-way relationships with peers, partners, clients, staff, senior managers and external technological vendors. You are skilled at presenting ideas, documenting processes and workflows and designing systems. You can relay your opinions with sensitivity.
