MTIS is the team making it happen.</p> <p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p>CBC/Radio-Canada is looking for a Senior Systems Designer to work on various aspects of design and implementation for TV, Radio and Digital production and distribution systems. As part of our Engineering team, this is an exciting opportunity to learn, deploy and use the latest technologies for broadcast and media production. It&rsquo;s a chance to collaborate across multiple teams which may include other engineers, designers and members of CBC/Radio-Canada operations and support.</p> <p><strong>Who you are and where are you now?</strong></p> <p>You are an experienced Systems Designer with hands-on experience overseeing the deployment of new technologies across an organization. With formal or informal Project Management experience, you are a mentor who can guide the work of their team; a presenter who can work across any level of an organization; and an Engineer with a toolbox of processes and plans.</p> <p>You want to be part of a continuously changing environment with leading-edge technology. Responsibilities: <p><strong>As our new Senior Systems Designer you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design innovative, practical solutions to complex problems, particularly where new technologies are to be integrated into existing facilities.</li> <li>Create and track the schedules and budgets for capital projects; monitoring progress to ensure compliance with scope and objectives.</li> <li>Prepare functional, schematic, layout drawings and detailed installation instructions for wiring crews.</li> <li>Oversee the procurement from writing and requesting quotes and proposals to evaluating tender responses and making recommendations. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Verify system performance against design criteria, ensuring identified deficiencies are corrected and providing documentation for ongoing operation and maintenance of facilities.</li> <li>Participate in strategic planning, providing expert advice on cost, timeframe and feasibility of capital requirements.</li> <li>Create concept designs for review with our business partners.</li> <li>Conceptualize alternative solutions which satisfy defined objectives.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why join us?</strong></p> <p>At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Requirements: <strong>What you bring<br /><br /></strong> <ul> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">The education. You have&nbsp;</span>either a Bachelor degree in Engineering or a diploma In Applied Science and Technology. You are eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario or the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, or equivalent. Alternatively, you have an undergraduate degree from in a program that is accredited by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) such as a Bachelor of Computing Science or a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.</li> <li>The communication and relationship building skills. You can nurture strong two-way relationships with peers, partners, clients, staff, senior managers and external technological vendors. You can effectively translate technical requirements to non technical business needs and you can communicate with individuals in a diverse group. You have excellent technical writing skills and you can conduct presentations. You are comfortable negotiating contracts with suppliers.&nbsp;</li> <li>The Agile Project Management approach. You thrive in a team-focused environment. You can guide and lead the work of cross-functional teams. You are focused on taking a hands-on role wherever and whenever needed.</li> <li>The analytical skills and the creativity. You can think through complex issues and design innovative solutions.
