Media, Technology and Infrastructure (MTIS) is the team making it happen.</p> <p>CBC/Radio-Canada Transmission, a division of Real Estate Solutions and part of MTIS is responsible for the collection, distribution and delivery of radio and television services to Canadians. In addition to the on-going business of serving CBC&rsquo;s program delivery requirements, we provide transmission-related services to the private sector. This includes shared co-location at CBC transmitter facilities.</p> <p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p>CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a Business Manager, West to negotiate and manage business activities on Transmission assets (towers and related facilities) in the Western Region. Based in Toronto and reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Development you will serve as the primary point of contact between the Corporation and its licensees/lessors. This is an opportunity to manage site sharing and lease-management from coast-to-coast-to-coast and identify other revenue sources and cost-cutting methods.</p> <p><strong>Who you are and where are you now?</strong></p> <p>You are an analytical, self-motivated and driven Contract and Portfolio Manager with interest in vertical real estate assets. You may be in broadcasting, telecommunication or real estate and you have extensive contract negotiation and management experience. You are looking for a role where you will encounter a new challenge every day, working with a diverse range of clients from traditional broadcasters to a variety of telecommunication service providers as well as landowners and operators. You are seeking an opportunity to step into the public sector where you can grow your career overseeing an extensive portfolio of agreements.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you?</strong></p> <p><em><u>C</u>hallenges</em>. This is an opportunity to oversee and manage:</p> <ul> <li>The initiation and negotiation of complex leases and licenses for the let and lease of Transmission facilities and assets, with the objective of maximizing revenue and minimizing expenses.</li> <li>The legal, operational and financial requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada and ensure they are met through the timely issue and execution of legally executed agreements.</li> <li>The financial planning, budgeting, reporting and forecasting for all negotiated agreements.</li> <li>The receipt and issue of external engineering studies to ensure the Corporation's towers, buildings and other holdings are not compromised by the addition of third-party facilities.</li> <li>The database summary report to ensure that deadlines and critical dates for the issue and receipt of site share agreements and engineering reports are met.</li> <li>The relationships with all clients, both internal and external to manage difficult issues, resolve conflicts and, within scope, to build consensus.</li> </ul> <p><em><u>B</u>e part of the change.</em>&nbsp;You want to stay abreast of telecommunication industry developments and current trends; identify best practices and actively share knowledge by making practical recommendations.</p> <p><em><u>C</u>utting-edge tech.</em>&nbsp;You want to monitor emerging telecommunications technologies, wireless and broadcasting to identify business development opportunities. Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. You have a Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent degree.</li> <li>The experience. You have five to seven years&rsquo; business management expertise including: <ul> <li>Demonstrable success in the application of financial principles and contract law.</li> <li>Client-focused experience including managing leases and license agreements.</li> <li>Industry-related understanding of technology, transmission systems and telecommunications.</li> </ul> </li> <li>The analytical skills. You understand how to dig into issues, remove the roadblocks and present solutions both immediate and long term.</li> <li>The technology skills. You are proficient with MS Office and Google Suite. You pick up new tools quickly. You have an interest in keeping abreast of technological developments and trends in the industry.</li> <li>The project management skills. You have outstanding organizational abilities and you can manage competing priorities.
