The Technical Equipment Instructor will work with management, Operations and employees to assess learning and training needs. This position will design, develop, and deliver learning opportunities and training programs that effectively support business plans and the achievement of strategic, tactical and annual business objectives.

Overview: The Technical Equipment Instructor will work with management, Operations and employees to assess learning and training needs. Responsibilities: <strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Provides expertise, advice and support to effectively balance individual and group learning needs/ preferences, strategies and options in the context of business competency needs and budget and time resource constraints.</li> <li>Evaluates and ensures there is an effective match between learning program content and the target audience(s).</li> <li>Provides advice and guidance related to such matters as education/ career counselling and adult education and learning.</li> <li>Undertakes or participates in the development and delivery of programs using sound instructional design and effective computer-based instructional design and multi-media development if required.</li> <li>Undertakes in-depth research in specific content areas required to develop new resources.</li> <li>Working in partnership with subject matter experts, develop or assist in development, pilot, revise and deliver new resources.</li> <li>Carries out evaluations to ensure learning and training programs meet stated objectives by measuring the results of learning activities in terms of knowledge transfer and business application; analyses and diagnoses reasons for both successful and unsuccessful programs; works to overcome barriers to learning through proactive individual and collaborative action.</li> <li>Ensures effective administration of programs including: determining budget and resource requirements of courses; coordination of program content and delivery with participating departments; and providing on-going advice and support materials to participants.</li> <li>Plays a supporting role in developing and improving systems to store and retrieve organizational and individual knowledge through database(s).</li> </ul>

Since this is a key position with respect to the mid- and longer-term success of CEDA, the capabilities, competencies and personality of the incumbent will have considerable influence on the credibility and effectiveness of learning initiatives.</li> <li>Original and innovative thinking will be required to design highly effective organizational learning and knowledge management framework(s) tailored to CEDA&rsquo;s needs.</li> <li>The ability to explain how to effectively link, organizational learning, and knowledge/intellectual capital management to business planning and operations as well as human resource systems/programs with clarity and simplicity is necessary.</li> <li>The position calls for strong listening, communicating and facilitating skills and a capacity to effectively deal with difficult interpersonal issues.</li> <li>Experience in the Industrial, construction, engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> <li>CTDP/CTP designation or progress towards obtaining CTDP/ CTP</li> <li>Minimum 2-3 years progressive experience in enabling significant business and organizational change through competency development, learning and training, and knowledge management programs preferably in the industrial or construction fields.</li> <li>Completed or progress towards all site safety requirements.</li> <li>Excellent facilitation, presentation, public speaking, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential.</li> <li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office &ndash; Excel , Word (advanced skills), PowerPoint (advanced skills)</li> <li>High level skills in team building and working effectively as a member of a team are required.</li> <li>Strong commitment to internal customer service, workforce development, personal initiative and problem solving to bring about needed change is critical.</li> <li>Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, project management, instructional design is required</li> <li>Proficiency in statistical analysis, and database software is an asset.</li> <li>Ability to function independently in a busy office environment.</li> <li>Strong organization, prioritization, and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.</li> </ul>
