Overview: <br /> <p>We&rsquo;re a small team, you&rsquo;ll get to know the people as well as you know the equipment. The variety of interesting equipment with specialty components combined with the tools needed to do great work are a few reasons our shop team loves working here.</p> <p>In this Mechanic position, you will also wear the hat of a Pigging Operator when required. If you don&rsquo;t know how to pig, we can teach you! Approximately 60% of the time you will work on fixing the equipment and 40% of the time you will be out in the field operating.</p> <p>Our Pigging and Decoking Operators provide support to refineries, petrochemical facilities, and associated industrial complexes by cleaning pipes and pipelines by means of propelling a decoking pig through the line.</p> <p>Hours of work are based on client schedules as such the shifts vary greatly when the team is deployed to projects. At a minimum, we work Monday to Friday 8AM - 5PM.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Preventative maintenance on pigging units</li> <li>Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems, and pumps</li> <li>Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts</li> <li>Complete DOT inspections</li> <li>Safely mobilizes equipment to and from client sites, company stations, and other facilities as directed</li> <li>Set up and operate specialty pigging equipment to clean systems at facilities</li> <li>Maintain open and truthful dialogue with Supervisors, Project Managers, and Operations Manager to ensure understanding of scope of work and job readiness</li> <li>Haul hoses, PPE, and tools to where the work is being done</li> <li>Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>&nbsp;Role Specifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman</li> <li>Welding and fabrication experience would be an asset</li> <li>CDL Class A driver&rsquo;s licence, no restrictions with a clean DOT record (asset but not required)</li> <li>Weight handling of up to 50 lbs</li> <li>Experience in hydraulic, electrical, generator and pump systems is an asset</li> <li>Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>You&rsquo;re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers, and getting the job done safely</li> <li>You&rsquo;re meticulous &ndash; you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs</li> <li>Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to provide your own tools would be an asset</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <div> <h2 class="title">Additional Information</h2> </div> <div class="wysiwyg"> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
