Overview: The Human Resources Business Partner supports all HR deliverables, for the identified client groups, while maintaining accountability to the broader Human Resources department. The ideal candidate will possess a customer service orientation by providing timely support and professional HR guidance to CEDA&rsquo;s operational divisions within the Fort McMurray region.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaboration with leaders, business partners and other HR team members to establish, and provide direction on existing, policies and procedures in the areas of employee and/or labour relations, talent and performance management.</li> <li>Provides guidance and direction to internal customer groups in the areas of progressive discipline, coaching, reward and recognition and retention and attraction strategies.</li> <li>Partners with managers and leads through investigation processes to determine and recommend appropriate outcomes for potential violations of Company policy and procedure. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Provides direction and recommendations on employee disciplinary and termination requests with consideration to both Employment Standards Code and Common law requirements &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Partner with other functional support groups, and management teams alike, to proactively identify and resolve barriers that hinder positive and productive work environments.</li> <li>Administers the employee lifecycle through in system processes and data entry within CEDA&rsquo;s Human Resources Information System (HRIS).</li> <li>Uses CEDA&rsquo;s HRIS to ground decisions and provide recommendations to respective service lines; provides general reporting as required.</li> <li>As required, liaise with Learning &amp; Development department to coordinate development training for new and existing employees.</li> <li>Provide day to day HR guidance to management and employees on company policies and processes.</li> <li>Facilitates resolution of escalated policy and personnel issues, and if required, involves the HR Leadership team for support.</li> <li>Is a champion for HR process improvements, process mapping/documentation practices, standards and procedures.</li> <li>Actively networks, maintains and builds HR networking channels, with a focus on Alberta to ensure understanding of the market.</li> <li>Administration tasks and cross-functional projects as required.</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li> <p><strong>Role Specifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Post-secondary degree in human resources required with relevant recruitment training as an asset</li> <li>Past experience within an industrial or oilfield service sector is desirable</li> <li>Past experience working within a unionized environment with experience interpreting and administering collective agreements considered an asset</li> <li>A demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Ability to maintain effective relations with employees, potential employees, customers and co-workers</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple and changing deadlines in a fast paced environment</li> <li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability</li> <li>Excellent communication skills (written &amp; verbal)</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
