Overview: <h4><span class="head1"><strong>Position Summary:</strong><br /><br />Reporting to the Turnaround Manager, industrial cleaning labourers and operators assist in the operation and maintenance of a variety of industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools.<br /><br /></span>**These are temporary turnaround opportunities starting in August&nbsp;2017. Projects typically run between 3 &ndash; 6 weeks. If you are a successful candidate you would be expected to stay on the project until it&rsquo;s completion and may be moved between projects/regions depending on business needs**</h4>
Responsibilities: <strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Assist with the operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools at heights and in confined spaces</li> <li>Complete minor maintenance and checks on company vehicles</li> <li>Ensure safety for all team members and property</li> <li>Provide quality service to our clients</li> <li>Performing a wide variety of jobs using basic construction skills and/or operating some power equipment</li> <li>Feed conveyors, crushers and other equipment, open valves and start pumps, sort, stack, bundle and stamp materials</li> <li>Experience around heavy equipment (loader, dozer, excavator, backhoe) is an asset</li> <li>Identifying, distributing materials and equipment</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Clean driver&rsquo;s abstract</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and to perform other physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment</li> <li>Ability to work at heights above 3 meters that may require the use of special fall restraint equipment</li> <li>Ability to work in confined spaces such as a reactor, small vessel or trench</li> <li>Comfortable with the use of respiratory equipment and air supply, wearing a full face mask, carrying your source of oxygen and using supplied air</li> <li>Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written</li> <li>Ability to participate in and pass all training courses required by CEDA for this role</li> <li>Commitment to health, safety and environment</li> <li>Ability to travel throughout Alberta and work flexible shifts</li> <li>Ability to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test</li> <li>Ability to work shift work (days/nights) of 10 to 12 hours per day</li> <li>Ability to work outdoors</li> <li>Class 5 driver's licence</li> <li>Valid CSTS, OSSA and/or BSO certification preferred</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Ideal Candidate:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Previous vacuum/high pressure operator experience in oil and gas or industrial environments</li> <li>Mechanically inclined</li> <li>Class 1 or 3 driver&rsquo;s licence an asset</li> </ul> <br /><br />*Please note that Operators are required to complete labourer duties*
