Overview: <p>Our client needs a strong sales engineer interested in developing sales and new applications for the oil &amp; gas industry. If you are a motivated engineer, want to "own" your territory, have great people skills, a strong personal drive and are highly customer focused,&nbsp;<strong>let's connect!</strong></p> <p>This position is located in the Houston, Texas area. You will be travelling domestically and some internationally to support our customers and interact with other parts of the organization.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Key Performance Areas</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage current business relationships - an $8 million plus portfolio and always mindful of prospecting of new customers.</li> <li>Direct sales activities in a wide territory, acting as the preferred contact between the customer and company.</li> <li>Develop individual sales plans; achieve sales targets by executing the plans</li> <li>Support sales forecast process.</li> <li>Identify and develop new opportunities in the oil &amp; gas industry.</li> <li>Provide competitor information, market intelligence and technology trends in the industry.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Your Profile</strong></p> <p>Required qualification is a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering or physical sciences.&nbsp; Any advanced degree is a plus.&nbsp; Have at least 5-8 years of work experience in a similar position, involving technical sales and application engineering.</p> <ul> <li>Highly customer focused.</li> <li>Strong personal drive with well-developed ability to prioritize, follow up and close deals.</li> <li>Ability to network, cooperate and cultivate effective collaborations with customers.</li> <li>Strong engineering background and understanding of material properties, their performance in typical conditions, with ability to read engineering drawings, interpret the requirements &amp; specifications and visualize the application of the products.</li> <li>Ability to understand oil &amp; gas applications, tools and assemblies used in oil field services and material properties and performance expectations</li> <li>Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led application development activities; able to quickly grasp new ideas</li> </ul> <p>Desired Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Great people skills - able to anticipate, identify, and respond to challenging situations</li> <li>Demonstrate leadership ability.</li> <li>Experience in working in multi-functional environment with ability to understand processes and transactional flows.</li> <li>Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma</li> <li>Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others</li> </ul>
