Overview: <br />Working under general supervision of the VP of Technical Sales, the Field Sales Specialist supports all sales segments within their assigned geography. The Field Sales Specialist (FSS) sells advanced technology solution sets which include server, storage, networking and virtualization. FSS works in collaboration with the Sales teams to drive Data Center business into existing key account relationships as well as identify and generate new business in their assigned territories. The FSS is responsible to meet or exceed Revenue and GP targets and developing account strategies to drive client engagement. The FSS takes a strategic/consultative approach leveraging existing relationships (as well as creating new ones) with our strategic business partners/vendors to help Connection grow these key/focus accounts. Other key initiatives; delivers Connection&rsquo;s NSP value proposition, conducts Quarterly Business Reviews, works on strategic project plans, provides updates on new offerings and services and serves as a trusted advisor to our clients and account managers. The FSS presents to all levels including Manager, Director, VP and C-Levels as well as represents Connection at customer and vendor events as requested. The FSS spends 70% of time on established accounts and 30% of time hunting for new business, focusing on data center technology sales.
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Supports all sales segments within assigned territory to sell advanced technology solution sets including server, storage, networking, and virtualization. Maintains and builds relationships with assigned Account Managers, vendors and new or existing customers.</li> <li>Delivers presentations to customers and prospects promoting Connection&rsquo;s NSP capabilities and explaining the benefits and value of Connection as a complete solutions and services provider.</li> <li>Sets up customer meetings and executes on those scheduled meetings uncovering new opportunities while fostering long-term relationships.</li> <li>Maintains and grows existing key accounts and develops new business accounts on behalf of assigned Account Executives across all segments.</li> <li>Develops sales and account management strategies that will deliver revenue and GP targets within a defined territory of accounts.</li> <li>Meets weekly or bi-weekly with Sales management on execution of business/account plan and calendar/pipeline.</li> <li>Develops strong relationships with supported Account Executives by regularly calling them to strategize around existing accounts and engaging them on new business opportunities. This includes site visits for face-to-face meetings 2 to 3 times/year.</li> <li>Completes daily, weekly, monthly &amp; quarterly administrative functions; such as managing expenses and submitting timely, weekly calendar/pipeline reports and providing updates as needed. Prepares quarterly and/or regular business reviews &amp; customized customer presentations.</li> <li>Works closely with business partners (i.e., manufacturer field reps) to help penetrate accounts and win business.</li> </ul>
