Overview: <br /> <p>Connection has a fantastic direct hire opportunity with one of our top-notch clients in Elk Grove Village, IL. This will be a hybrid IT Support Specialist that will be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of the entire telecom and computer system. Specifically, the position is responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and solving any problems associated with the telecom and/or computer system.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The position will be hybrid after the first few weeks of onsite training, M-F, 8AM-5PM. It will require some local travel to three facilities within a mile of each other.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Identify broken or damaged equipment, and repair/determine whether the item(s) should be repaired or replaced</li> <li>Interact with the user to understand and solve IT-related issues</li> <li>Identify equipment and software upgrade opportunities</li> <li>Assist with installation of new hardware and software</li> <li>Check server logs to identify potential IT problems</li> <li>Perform routine preventative hardware maintenance</li> <li>Perform data backups as necessary</li> <li>Track &amp; document efforts in a centralized ticketing system</li> <li>Work with external Managed IT Services partners to ensure efficient operations of IT systems</li> <li>Assist with end-user support of internal ERP system</li> <li>Learn how to maintain and support the ERP system's custom reporting</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Two years of IT help desk experience</li> <li>Excellent MS Office knowledge</li> <li>Proficient with AS 400</li> <li>Windows desktop and server operating systems</li> <li>Basic Active Directory user management</li> <li>Microsoft Office 365 &amp; Exchange Online</li> <li>Basic networking (DHCP, DNS)</li> <li>Basic familiarity and support of line-of-business applications (ERP, CRM)</li> <li>Previous experience working in a team environment</li> <li>Effectively communicate to employees on every level</li> <li>Troubleshoot and repair IT related equipment</li> <li>Troubleshoot and problem solve</li> <li>Read and comprehend technical material</li> <li>Ensure security and confidentiality of data</li> <li>Exercise proper decision-making and judgment</li> <li>Complete assignments within specified timeframe</li> <li>Exhibit flexibility with regard to job duties</li> <li>Work in a shop environment for prolonged periods of time &ndash; as projects need completion</li> <li>Be flexible to work after hours on-site for support</li> </ul>
