They are responsible for strategizing with inside sales account managers to communicate the Connection value proposition to customers in State and Local Governments and Education (K-12 and Higher Education) with ability to present at the Manager/Director level. Via training or previous work experience, the BDM will gain familiarity with available contract vehicles, and have the ability to present customized web solutions and develop and maintain local manufacturer relationships. This is an outside sales position that requires 50% or more travel mostly by automobile with occasional overnights, airline travel as needed.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Maintains and grows existing key accounts and develops new business accounts. <ul> <li>Develops sales and account management strategies that will deliver revenue and GP targets within a defined territory of accounts.</li> <li>Meets weekly or bi-weekly with sales management on execution of business/account plan and calendar/pipeline.</li> <li>Develops strong relationships with inside account managers by regularly calling them to strategize around existing accounts and engage them on new business opportunities. This includes site visits for face-to-face meetings 3 to 4 times per year.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Partners with vendors to help grow and discover key accounts. <ul> <li>Works closely with business partners (i.e., manufacturer field reps) to help penetrate accounts and win business.</li> <li>Conducts face-to-face meetings and/or regular calls with vendor reps to do strategic account planning. Emphasis on meeting with our top-tier vendors.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Maintains and builds relationships with customers through presentations, and prospects for new customers promoting Connection&rsquo;s NSP capabilities and explaining the benefits and value of Connection as a complete solutions and services provider.</li> <li>Sets up customer meetings and execute those scheduled meetings uncovering new opportunities while fostering long-term relationships.</li> <li>Completes daily, weekly, monthly &amp; quarterly administrative functions. <ul> <li>Submits calendar/pipeline on weekly basis &amp; provides updates as needed.</li> <li>Completes all mandatory recaps within 3 business days for all customer meetings.</li> <li>Prepares quarterly and/or regular business reviews &amp; customized customer presentations.</li> <li>Attends bi-monthly mandatory team &amp; vendor calls.</li> <li>Plans travel logistics.</li> <li>Manages and submits expenses.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.</li> </ul>
