The Sr Manager manages the revenue recognition processes, focusing on reseller arrangements and professional services. Key responsibilities in addition to accurate revenue recognition include team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and partnering with Sales and IT to enhance processes and systems.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Leads the team responsible for the complete and accurate recognition of revenue including the development and maintenance of revenue recognition policies and procedures.</li> <li>Manages and communicates throughout the periodic financial close process across all stakeholders providing required information for external reporting and disclosure.</li> <li>Supports internal and external audit activities including SOX compliance.</li> <li>Partners closely with Sales and FP&amp;A to ensure precise and timely reporting of revenue.</li> <li>Develops a strong understanding of the quote-to-cash cycle focusing on process and data capture which effects revenue recognition and downstream reporting to improve automation and streamline close processes.</li> <li>Collaborates with the information technology team to develop requirements for system enhancements and testing of changes before being placed into production.</li> <li>Assists Sales, Services, and Legal teams with contract review to ensure proper revenue treatment.</li> <li>Assesses the potential impact of business operations, new product offerings and pricing on revenue recognition.</li> <li>Mentors the revenue team members and supports career development.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>7+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition.</li> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly.</li> <li>Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.</li> <li>Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include creating presentations, creating documents in Word to include advanced formatting, creating spreadsheets to include the use of macros.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of enterprise accounting software.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of accounting principles with ability to provide accurate and timely financial statements.</li> <li>Knowledge to understand service contracts to determine appropriate key billing dates and amounts.</li> <li>Knowledge of overall operations of a service organization.</li> <li>Articulate with ability to express oneself clearly and professionally in written and oral communication.</li> <li>Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities.</li> <li>Interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Quick study with ability to master a situation or learn new things with minimum direction or training.</li> <li>Supportive mentor with ability to guide and develop and direct team members to accomplish goals.</li> <li>Ability to meet deadlines.</li> </ul>
