Practioner

Overview: Responsible for providing for the health care needs of patients in collaboration with the physician, through advanced assessment and identification of health states including abnormal conditions, diagnosing, treatment and evaluation.
Responsibilities: <p>Performs care in a specialty area such as cardiology, pulmonology, etc. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards to provide direct clinical services for patients within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.</li> <li>Acts independently to perform individual assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations.</li> <li>Acquires patient health histories and evaluates patient, performing physical examinations.</li> <li>Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients clinical problems and health care needs.</li> <li>Discusses case with physician. Formulates and documents care plan.</li> <li>Prescribes medication or other forms of treatment.</li> <li>Participates in On-Call program which may include after-hours, weekend and holiday calls and visitations.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Requires an MS in Nursing;</li> <li>3 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.</li> <li>Current unrestricted RN license and NP license in applicable state required.</li> <li>Certification in a specialty required. For CareMore business units, satisfactory completion of a pre-placement Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.</li> </ul>
