Overview: The Managing Director will lead a lean manufacturing organization to support the company&rsquo;s growth trajectory and to align corporate strategies and objectives across the company&rsquo;s operations in China with a clear focus on sustainable profitability and growth.<br /><br />Our client is looking for a resilient and flexible leader that can navigate a complex matrixed atmosphere with ambiguity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with many different international stakeholders and functional groups such as sales in a hands-on and active way. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Implement and optimize manufacturing processes based on the corporate standards with consideration for safety, quality and efficiency according to &ldquo;lean&rdquo; methodologies to adapt quickly to changing market requirements</li> <li>Improve efficiency and effectivity through process and system improvements covering the whole organization and across all levels to maximize revenue</li> <li>Lead the transition to a high performance organization including the definition and implementation of the corresponding interfaces</li> <li>Close cooperation with the sales department including participation at customer meetings and visits to support the implementation of the sales strategy</li> <li>Selection hiring and consequently leading the personnel development of the direct reports on site in collaboration with Human Resources</li> <li>Together with finance, analyze costs and variances against established standards and sets necessary corrective actions; assure proper monthly reports to European HQ Communication with the state administration authorities, auditors, responsibility for the preparation of the annual financial plan and year-end forecasts</li> <li>Oversee accounting and regular financial statements</li> <li>Coordinate the branch's economic activity in accordance with legal regulations Ensure auditing of accounts, guarantees compliance with applicable financial and legal standards Initiate and successfully implement investment projects including the supervision of necessary site expansion</li> <li>Coordinate and align processes abreast with other departments and assure proper usage of ERP systems</li> <li>Develop annual plans (OPSP) in conjunction with finance and sales as well as with the European headquarters</li> <li>Extend and secure a well-run organization and facilitate teamwork and success through continuing education, structured communication, and the implementation of new technology</li> <li>Represent the legal entity as Managing Director</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Solid understanding of and experience with manufacturing, inventory management, production scheduling, supply chain, and sales</li> <li>Demonstrable understanding of manufacturing with a focus on &ldquo;Process Efficiencies&rdquo; (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TQM, TPS, Six Sigma or 5S paired with the definition and implementation of production related KPI&rsquo;s</li> <li>Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills, with ability to analyze and improve business structures and processes, as well as the ability to effectively communicate goals and objectives to staff&nbsp; &nbsp;</li> <li>Knowledge in SAP, MS Office and BI-tools</li> <li>Familiar with the cost management/control using KPI&rsquo;s, SAP as ERP system and the corresponding finance report s according to IFRS and GAAP International and intercultural work experience as well as working within a global collaborative framework&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li> <li>Strong ability to &ldquo;walk the talk&rdquo; into the organization with an authentic personality and clear customer orientation; self-driven and passionate</li> <li>Stable, solid personality with strong leadership skills able to quickly establish credibility internally and externally</li> <li>Structured problem-solving abilities with a high-level of intrinsic motivation and an organized personality focused on objectives without losing sight of relevant budgetary requirements</li> <li>Demonstrable communication and negotiation skills both internally and externally utilizing networking and exchanging best practices</li> <li>Proactively initiates new and pragmatic procedures and policies, e.g. employee development; anticipates and develops both strategic and tactical management plans and programs</li> <li>Possesses intercultural sensitivity and understanding, with the ability to work collaboratively an international business environment</li> <li>Leads by example with a visibly hands-on approach and leverages excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish contacts and build relationships</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years as Plant/Site/General Manager experience in the precision plastic mold manufacturing industry as well as assembly of complex systems, preferably with the use in pharmaceutical and medical applications</li> <li>B.S./ M.S. Industrial Engineering or technical field mandatory, MBA beneficial&nbsp; &nbsp;</li> <li>English: business fluent (required), German &amp; Mandarin skills would be an advantage</li> </ul>
