Overview: <p>The Senior Director of Sales and Business Development will be responsible for the direction and management of sales and business development operations including presentations and RFP development, market competitiveness, pricing, and the business growth though ROI value creating solutions. This is a high visibility position requiring strong leadership skills.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We are therefore looking for a strong business-minded, successful and motivated sales professional with a proven track record in the people moving transportation industry. &nbsp;She/he will be part of an extensive capital-intensive business dealing with local and regional clients, including municipalities and government sectors. The Senior Director of Sales and Business Development is an integral part of the executive team and will play an important role to grow and prosper the company into a major market share of innovative transport vehicles within North America. Responsibilities: <div> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> </div> <ul> <li>Responsible for all business development and overall management of Sales, Strategic Marketing, Customer Relationship &amp; Business Development activities.</li> <li>Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.</li> <li>Develop and coordinate the North America sales and business development strategy.</li> <li>Coordinate development of technical proposals with HQ technical tender team.</li> <li>Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company`s ambitious growth.</li> <li>Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets (including maintenance and operations).</li> <li>Identify potential alliances in the US and Canada to grow the business</li> <li>Act as prime liaison between clients and the company for both new and existing accounts.</li> <li>Understand and interpret client needs and communicate to all stakeholders.&nbsp;</li> <li>Respond to clients&rsquo; requirements, negotiate pricing agreements, service levels and manage special projects.</li> <li>Provide and maintain excellent customer service</li> <li>Address challenges with customers, the public, government and external sources within the industry by appropriate communication means</li> <li>Identify opportunities through market research and networking, and develop a marketing approach tailored to respond to the needs of the clients and build a solid pipeline of repeat and new business</li> <li>Establish key performance indicators for the sales and business development.</li> <li>Represent and promote the company at promotional events, such as trade shows and association meetings.</li> <li>Stay informed on Federal, State and local policies and funding opportunities</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifications and skills</strong></p> <p>Experience working and negotiating contracts with clients and authorities at executive, engineering, and operational level.</p> <p>Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.</p> <p>Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail.</p> <p>Proactive, results-oriented, creative problem solver.</p> <p>Solid analytical and negotiation skills.</p> <p>Dynamic, authentic and customer oriented personality with ambitious drive and motivation to win orders.</p> <p>Experience working with clients and authorities at executive, engineering, and operational level.</p> <p>High self-motivated self-starter who can effectively work in a matrix organizational environment</p> <p>Proficient MS office Suite</p> <p>Excellent verbal and writing/presentation skills in English (German a plus)</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Education and experience</strong></p> <p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in an engineering background a strong plus.&nbsp; MBA highly desirable.</p> <p>10 years of experience in sales and business development.</p> <p>Minimum 5 years of experience in the people moving transportation industry with substantial project management exposure with proven track record of increasing revenue through new opportunities.</p> <p>Advanced knowledge and experience with the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.</p>
