Overview: <p class="_04xlpA direction-ltr align-start para-style-body"><span class="JsGRdQ">The Director of Business Development will combine a passion for human-centered design and improving organizations with a desire to make an impact domestically and internationally. This role will seek out new potential clients through relationship building and consultative selling. A critical part of this will be developing client proposals and case studies with the internal team of experts. Effective storytelling and discovery-based selling are key to success.</span> <span class="JsGRdQ">The position will also focus on government RFP processes in a way that enables our client to be proactive rather than reactive. Seeking out exciting partnerships with technology leaders and complementary service providers will bring an added level of interest to this role.</span></p> <p class="_04xlpA direction-ltr align-start para-style-body">&nbsp;</p> <p class="_04xlpA direction-ltr align-start para-style-body"><span class="JsGRdQ">In addition, this person will be a critical part of the leadership team for the consultancy. Responsibilities: <ul> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Source potential clients in the government, non-profit, and social impact enterprise industries</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Coordinate with internal designers, researchers, and consultants to draft technical proposals and customized plans for collaboration with potential clients</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Manage various RFP's proactively with a consultative approach</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Maintain the client pipeline and relationships in an industry where the sales cycle can be lengthy and complex</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Communicate pipeline data and prospective business to the leadership team regularly</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Participate in a meaningful way to the strategic direction of the company overall as a key member of the leadership team</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Work to develop relationships with strategic partners on appropriate teaming opportunities, including but not limited to technology and software partners</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Set and achieve revenue goals through sales and marketing efforts</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Oversite of Marketing Manager</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Strategize marketing and public relations initiatives</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Maintain up-to-date service capabilities knowledge through natural curiosity and consistent communication with the consulting team and leadership</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Consultative sales experience into the government, non-profit, and/or IT solutions sector</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Excellent writing skills</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Understanding of key strategic challenges that face the above industries</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Strong understanding of the user-centered design process and user experience research methodologies preferred</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Track record of building meaningful long-term relationships by listening and focusing on making others successful</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Willingness to travel</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Strong organization, presentation, and negotiation skills</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Curiosity, passion, and competitiveness</span></li> <li><span class="JsGRdQ">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree</span></li> </ul>
