Overview: <p>The Global Head of Business Development will lead the growth strategy of a high-potential, transformative business unit of our client&rsquo;s company. They will also be the entrepreneurial-minded leader to implement this strategy. This is not a typical sales role, as the Global Head of Business Development will rely on their in-depth knowledge of the biologic area to define an innovation roadmap to further specialize this product area. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of working cross-functionally with engineering and operations to achieve the ideal industrial background for innovation.</p> <p>The Global Head of Business Development will play a critical role in the bottom line of the company by directing the business development activities for the business unit and driving new sales. This position will oversee marketing efforts and continue to build a strong global sales and key account team focused on driving growth. With a strong understanding of our client&rsquo;s matrixed atmosphere, this position will identify potential partnerships, opportunities to enhance distribution and open up new markets, and methods to enhance efficiency within the organization&rsquo;s sales and marketing departments.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Maintains global business including strategy, sales &amp; marketing, business development, and innovation in a matrixed organization</li> <li>Develops and enacts long-term growth strategies and customer/regional/market segment development plans; takes a high-level view of company goals and objectives to drive business growth</li> <li>Identifies opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships internally and externally to advance the business</li> <li>Provides market feedback and identifies areas where the business can increase its footprint including potential partnerships, opportunities to enhance distribution and open up new markets, and methods to enhance efficiency within the organization&rsquo;s sales and marketing departments</li> <li>Takes a hands-on approach to the company&rsquo;s marketing efforts by recommending strategies and coordinating activities between Sales, Business Development and Marketing teams</li> <li>Works closely with executives and operations specialists to improve operations planning and overall efficiency by making recommendations for improvements and making long-term decisions regarding product development and distribution.</li> <li>Makes presentations to company executives and management teams to highlight business or marketing opportunities or to present the results of new strategies</li> <li>Builds and leads effective direct and cross-functional teams by effectively communicating guiding goals, measuring accomplishments, holding people accountable, and giving useful feedback</li> <li>Inspires others to to perform at a higher level and to embrace change</li> <li>Continuously seeks to understand the business and the mission-critical technical and functional skills needed to do the job by learning quickly while moving</li> <li>Problem solves complex and difficult problems as they arise using available data and personal experience quickly and effectively; fearlessly addresses issues and challenges</li> <li>Creatively identifies ideas and possibilities to bring into the innovation sphere and eventually to market</li> <li>Maintain openness and flexibility in a complex and constantly changing organization</li> </ul>
