Overview: <p>This is an exciting and unique opportunity to start on the ground floor as a strong and innovative group in the United States is developed! This Senior Engineering position will be supporting all research and development aspects of the product development process and post market activities to support contract manufacturing. This position will complete advanced engineering projects with peer input and guidance from global engineering management.</p> <p>We are looking for a candidate that brings a solid medical device R&amp;D background with a strong business and customer-focused skill set. This position will be involve highly independent work and the ability to be autonomous. As the group grows, this position will be a natural choice to build and develop a team. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Analyzes, plans, organizes, and completes projects of a very complex nature</li> <li>Develops scope and provides creative solutions</li> <li>Plans, organizes and conducts technical projects</li> <li>Consolidates results of design elements of major projects for purpose of design review</li> <li>Integrates subsystems and components in total systems design</li> <li>Develops specifications and requirements from customer requirements</li> <li>Delivers communications tailored to the needs of the managers, peers, customers and promotes cross-functional collaboration</li> <li>Manages training new/current employees with respect to documentation, use of equipment, laboratory techniques and department procedures</li> <li>May routinely monitor or supervise the work of one or more employees</li> <li>Engage and mentor others</li> <li>Provides input on performance evaluations to area manager</li> <li>Performs and is responsible for all systems level engineering deliverables</li> <li>Work on special projects as they arise</li> <li>Participate in environmental, health, and safety initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement</li> <li>Other duties and responsibilities as agreed between the Senior R&amp;D Engineer and the Director, Medical Device Solutions</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering degree preferred</li> <li>7+ years of experience in the medical device industry or experience in a regulated industry preferred</li> <li>Adaptability and ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment within a global organization</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)</li> <li>Solidworks experience preferred</li> <li>MiniTab and statistical experience preferred</li> <li>Experience with extrusion (Pebax, Vestamid, PTFE liners)</li> <li>Experience using thermal reflow (heat shrink)</li> <li>Experience with adhesives such as UV cure, cyanoacrylate, and epoxies</li> <li>Experience with injection molded components</li> <li>ABILITY TO TRAVEL DOMESTICALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY 30-50% OF THE TIME</li> </ul>
