Overview: Our client is looking for a seasoned Head of Operations and Country Manager for a growing and leading company in its industry, in Mexico.<br /><br />This position presents an interesting opportunity for a self-driven and energetic individual, able to perform in a complex, fast-paced, high-volume operation, and take it to a higher level of performance. This position is responsible for leading the expansion of the business operation in Mexico, upholding the profitability of the organization through sustainable growth, and aligning their responsibilities with the Company&rsquo;s mission, values, and strategic goals.<br /><br />The Head of Operations and Country Manager Mexico will manage all areas in the organization, including full P&amp;L responsibilities, Staff, Production &amp; Logistics Operations and the Facility Management, with indirect responsibility of the service hubs of the company in North America, Global Procurement, and Administration business support. Plant Management experience is highly preferred in the ideal candidate.<br /><br />Other key duties of this position involve building and developing high-performing work teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop the Mexico organization and footprint guided by the global company strategy</li> <li>Manage production activities, with full P&amp;L responsibility</li> <li>Enhance and implement production &amp; logistics business processes collaborating with the global process owners of the respective functions and the global operations organization under the leadership of the COO</li> <li>Establish strong new product introduction (NPI) competence in all aspects to set up the North American low-cost competence center</li> <li>Support and implement global strategic initiatives related to business process harmonization, standardization, digitization, and automation.</li> <li>Implement and run KPI management of costs, quality, delivery and flexibility (P&amp;L responsibility of Mexico operations hub)</li> <li>Build and develop production and logistics organization focusing on lean manufacturing capabilities</li> <li>Oversee the implementation of new manufacturing technologies to improve efficiency and productivity in collaboration with global manufacturing and technology teams</li> <li>Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of raw materials, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods</li> <li>Develop the organization by providing training in new technologies and processes as needed, working with management to develop strategies for efficiency improvement and costs reduction</li> <li>Establish goals for the operations organization and monitor the progress towards those goals in line with the global company OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures) framework</li> <li>Liaison with Head of North America in establishing service hub of customer organization activities (customer success management, quality assurance).</li> <li>Liaison with Head of Global Procurement in establishing service hub of locally required global procurement functions</li> <li>Liaison with global leaders of business support functions to establish the company site in Mexico in Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Quality Management, IT &amp; Business Excellence, as well as strategic projects</li> <li>Represent and manage the Mexico entity as Country Manager, specifically leading the ESG initiative in Mexico</li> <li>Manage employee satisfaction at the Mexico entity in collaboration with the country management team</li> <li>Represent the Mexico entity to third party legal entity in HR, Legal, Finance, Immigration and customs to support local and federal laws, insuring compliance and representation</li> <li>Lead Safety first mindset, insuring compliance to local laws, customs and insuring safety is first priority</li> <li>USMCA compliance, knowledge and regulations as pertaining to import and export company materials and finished goods</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering or related field. Master&rsquo;s degree preferred</li> <li>10+ years' leadership experience, at upper leadership level, managing global electronics service provider or with strong electronics manufacturing background</li> <li>Robotics &amp; automation (SAP, ERP system, for box build assembly production cells )</li> <li>Lean manufacturing, six sigma concepts (track record of implementation projects)</li> <li>Strong strategic and leadership skills (mentoring, coaching, communication, leading transformation, motivating staff). Experience managing international teams and complex, cross-functional projects</li> <li>Solid analytical and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Results-oriented focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency with an agile mindset and data driven decision making (KPI&rsquo;s management)</li> <li>Strong business process mindset / management</li> <li>Operations management (manufacturing technology, efficiency, productivity) with strong Logistics know how</li> <li>Outstanding change management skills with proven experience leading transformation in a fast pace environment.
