Overview: Provides direct care to residents while promoting residents' highest level of functioning as directed by management. Assists in maintaining residents' environment in a safe and neat manner. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Receives and gives reports to management on resident status at the beginning and end of each shift and as needed. Notifies the management of any changes in resident's physical and/or mental status.</li> <li>Provides personal care to residents per their individualized plan of care.</li> <li>Documents all pertinent information regarding care as assigned.</li> <li>Prepares residents for meals and assists residents to and from the dining room.</li> <li>Assists residents with meal set up and eating.</li> <li>Assists residents with toilet and incontinence care.</li> <li>Makes room checks and verifies resident location as directed by supervisor.</li> <li>Keeps residents' apartments neat and clean.</li> <li>Performs clinical procedures according to facility standards and scope of practice regulations.</li> <li>Performs vital signs, blood pressure, weights, and other trained procedures as directed by management.</li> <li>Completes prevention and restorative care including, but not limited to, ambulation, transferring, bathing, grooming, and all other Activities of Daily Living.</li> <li>Maintains a working knowledge of facility infection control procedures. Assists in turning, positioning, and repositioning residents as outlined in the resident's service plan.</li> <li>Participates actively in Interdisciplinary Team Process including documentation of care delivered and resident condition as directed by the supervisor as assigned. Attends care plan meetings as assigned and acts as a resident advocate.</li> <li>Communicates effectively with the residents, families, visitors, members of the health care team, and other disciplines.</li> <li>Actively participates in the facility's Quality Assurance Program.</li> <li>This role is required to report elder maltreatment or elder abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State.</li> <li>Maintains education development and compliance with State and Federal Regulations and current knowledge of resident care practices.</li> <li>Possesses working knowledge of facility emergency procedures including fire and disaster drills. Follows facility policies.</li> <li>Maintains resident confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA policies.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <br /> <br />
Requirements: <p><strong><u>Education and Experience</u></strong></p> <p>Washington State requires the completion of HCA training or greater within 120 days of hire and be credentialed within 200 days of hire with a completed and passed test. Employer will pay for your HCA course while you're working.</p> <p>Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.</p> <p><strong><u>Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements</u></strong></p> <p>Successful completion of State HCA Training</p> <p>Must meet all health requirements, including TB.</p> <p>Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Must have compassion for and desire to work with seniors!</li> <li>Strong organizational and follow-up skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.</li> <li>Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and email functions.</li> <li>The ability to be an active participant in the ongoing assessment of the nursing needs of each resident.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong personnel skills, and positive community relations skills.</li> <li>Self-motivated has the ability to work independently and make decisions.</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented.</li> <li>Excellent time-management skills and has a pleasant, professional, and personable manner.</li> <li>Must be able to understand and effectively communicate orally and in writing with residents, guests, supervisors, co-workers, vendors, and others, most of whom speak only English.</li> <li>Must be 18 years or older.</li> <li>Must meet all health requirements, including Health screening and TB clearance.</li> <li>First Aid certification is required.</li> </ul> <br />
