Overview: Under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services, the Cook prepares and serves meals that meet nutritional and safety standards while ensuring resident satisfaction. Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements</li> <li>Ensure food is safely stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures</li> <li>Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment, including all equipment and prep areas</li> <li>Assist in training and mentoring culinary staff</li> <li>Monitor and respond to resident preferences and satisfaction</li> <li>Uphold safety and health standards, including food safety compliance</li> <li>Foster teamwork and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment</li> <li>Report any elder maltreatment or abuse as required</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <br />
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Minimum one year of food service experience required; three years preferred</li> <li>Food Handler’s Permit (as required by state)</li> <li>First Aid certification required</li> <li>Must be 18 years or older</li> <li>Compassion for and desire to work with older adults</li> <li>Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure</li> </ul> <br />
