This hands-on processing position will engage your 1-2 years of payroll administration experience; where you will support the Payroll Supervisor. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Process and verify employee timesheets</li> <li>Enter and submit bi-monthly payroll information for salary and hourly employees</li> <li>Maintain records of banked overtime and vacation entitlement &ndash; process payout requests</li> <li>Prepare employee pay and pay adjustments by cheque or wire transfer as necessary</li> <li>Process new employee documents and employee changes including benefits into the HRIS</li> <li>Prepare ROEs and other statements</li> <li>Provide information to employees on matters relating to payroll and benefits</li> <li>Investigate errors in pay and related matters</li> <li>Perform regular clerical tasks such as audits and general correspondence</li> <li>Provide assistance to the Human Resources department as needed</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Completion of post-secondary courses in payroll administration, accounting, or bookkeeping, along with 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent education and experience</li> <li>PCP certification is an asset</li> <li>Sound knowledge of Canadian pay legislation and Provincial Employment Standards Regulations</li> <li>Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office and other computer applications</li> <li>Experience using Avanti Payroll System an asset, but not required</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, written and verbal</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy</li> <li>A high degree of discretion and tact and respect for confidential and sensitive information</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and problem solve, and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously</li> </ul>
