Overview: Responsible for providing assistance to all high school students, individually and in groups, regarding high school graduation and completion, including but not limited to, analyzing data to identify students or subgroups with potential high school graduation problems; planning, implementing, and tracking individual high school graduation plans; identifying and resolving barriers to graduation; and facilitating career choices and planning.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> Work with Principal/ AP, Counselor, and Data Analyst/Testing Coordinator to articulate and promote the school's vision of learning and teaching.</li> <li> Monitor and evaluate progress toward accomplishing 100% graduation rate.</li> <li> Develop goals and objectives, programs, and operations that are consistent with the school goals and mission.</li> <li> Ensure that plans are consistent with the school's strategic plan.</li> <li> Work with incoming 8th graders on IGPs to ensure that students are tracked and in appropriate Pathway; revise as needed.</li> <li> Utilizes the components of a profile of characteristics of potential dropouts developed through research, to identify high school students with the high probability of not graduating.</li> <li> Collaborates with feeder middle schools to utilize the components of a profile to identify middle school students with the high probability of not graduating.</li> <li> Develop and work with school staff to implement individual intervention strategies to increase the likelihood that those students will stay in school and graduate.</li> <li> Works with students to develop a graduation and achievement plan that includes the best program to meet academic and post-secondary needs.</li> <li> Coordinates a transition program for 9th graders to successfully adapt to the rigor of high school.</li> <li> Participates on a "team" of caring adults who support and mentor.</li> <li> Connects individual students and their parents with support programs as well as area technical colleges.</li> <li> Tracks the progress of individual and subpopulations of students as they progress toward graduation.</li> <li> Develop and implement dropout prevention plans for the school that are consistent with the school's vision and goals.</li> <li> </li> <li> Provide training to parents of students identified as being at risk of not graduating.</li> <li> Requires regular attendance and punctuality</li> <li> Assumes outside classroom duties as assigned</li> <li> Assists in implementing CSUSA and state rules and policies</li> <li> Participates in activities to improve professional competence</li> <li> Supports school programs and displays positive attitude</li> <li> Completes reports and records as assigned in a timely manner</li> <li> Projects well-groomed appearance and follows school dress code</li> <li> Assumes additional responsibilities as the principal may assign</li> <li> Functions professionally and harmoniously with parents, school personnel and students Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required</li> <li> Provides for communication with students and parents outside the instructional day as determined by administrative policy</li> <li> Accepts constructive criticism as an evaluative element of professional and instructional improvement</li> <li> Exhibits loyalty and maintains a positive attitude in the promotion of the school's goals</li> </ul> <br /> <br />**MAY PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED** <br /> <br /> <br /> DISCLAIMER <br />The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
