Overview: Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) is seeking a dedicated Internal Communications Manager to join our Fort Lauderdale team. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and executing internal communications plans, building relationships and collaborate with other functions on corporate initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing our internal communications strategy to align with CSUSA's Mission, Values, and Promise (MVP) initiative, ensuring every member of our vast educational network is informed, engaged, and motivated.
Responsibilities: <ol> <li>Communications Planning and Implementation: <ul> <li>Lead the creation and execution of an innovative internal communications plan that resonates with our organizational culture and drives employee engagement.</li> <li>Ensure all communications reflect CSUSA's MVP principles, enhancing understanding and commitment across the organization.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Collaboration and Material Development: <ul> <li>Work closely with senior management and HR to develop and standardize internal communication materials, including videos, brochures, and promotional items.</li> <li>Manage the creation and distribution of recruitment marketing collateral, ensuring a consistent and professional internal voice.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Communications Management: <ul> <li>Oversee key communication initiatives and maintain a comprehensive annual communications calendar.</li> <li>Spearhead communication campaigns for major organizational changes, such as new school openings or significant policy updates.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Content Creation and Distribution: <ul> <li>Coordinate and publish engaging company-wide newsletters, interviews, and updates.</li> <li>Employ innovative methods to make regular communications compelling and relevant to all staff levels.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Support for Managerial Communications: <ul> <li>Equip managers with effective tools and templates to ensure clear, consistent messaging within their teams.</li> <li>Organize training and resources to improve managerial communication skills, aligning with CSUSA's core values.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Event Coordination: <ul> <li>Assist in organizing and executing all-hands meetings, including logistics and executive presentations.</li> <li>Plan and manage additional forums such as town halls to boost internal engagement and feedback.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Cross-Functional Team Leadership: <ul> <li>Coordinate small, cross-functional project teams including creative, digital assets, social media, and production.</li> <li>Act as the central liaison for the creation and management of recruitment marketing assets.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Engagement and Channel Optimization: <ul> <li>Identify and evaluate effective communication and engagement opportunities within the organization.</li> <li>Innovate and drive an efficient channel mix tailored to reach diverse employee groups with relevant content.</li> </ul> </li> </ol>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.</li> <li>A verified history of implementing communications plans and following through on the delivery of those respective plans.</li> <li>Ability to take initiative and be hands-on with all aspects of preparations and logistics.</li> <li>Comfort and competence in interacting with C-level executives.</li> <li>Superb writing skills -- able to write concisely and interestingly in perfect standard English, on demand and with tight turnarounds.</li> <li>Proven experience in managing internal communications within a large organization.</li> <li>Strong understanding of digital communication platforms and content management systems.</li> <li>Excellent verbal communication skills, able to collaborate with any manager on communications.</li> <li>Ability to strategize and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p> <p>While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment characteristics listed below are representative of the environment the employee will encounter:</p> <ul> <li>Usual office working hours.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p> <ul> <li>No physical exertion required.</li> <li>Travel within or outside of state.</li> <li>Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT</strong></p> <p>Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy.
